Oh dear, some of the posters here don't like being called "pearl clutchers?" If I was writing a dictionary of idioms, I would link directly to this discussion for examples of "clutching their pearls." This is why people buy tabloids and follow gossip; if you never grew out of the middle-school-drama-queen stage, if you still get a vicarious rush out of following the antics of celebs (who have no idea who you are), and then breathlessly discussing it ad nauseam with other pearl-clutchers, if it makes your own days a little more exciting, then just OWN it and get over the indignation. It's okay, you're a vital and integral part of the big ecosystem of celebrity. And, if you're the celeb, it's still better to have people talking about you than ignoring you (like maybe people will start ignoring the Kardashians so they'll go away...please?). Personally, I just want AFL's music to keep coming and, offhand, I can't think of a single band or artist whose career was irreparably damaged because of some occasional raucous "badboy" behavior--and, hell, most of us LOVE those badboys! We want to be them or we want to f*** them. It's all part of Rock 'n' Roll, and I embrace AFL the Rocker ("From New York to LA getting high rock n' rollin, get a room trash it up 'til it's ten in the morning"...grind your crotch into the face of a dancer and kiss your keyboard player at the AMA's, punch a whole in Gaga's ceiling, wrestle an obnoxious pap at the beach..). He's not self-destructive, so put away the pearls and put on the leather. OK, break's over, now I have to get back to work at my real job (regular people have to eat, too). 8-)  Welcome jussayin!Just join in jussayin! Welcome, Dingit! |

Wow. Adam and his peeps aren't missing a trick promoting this new single!  Let's see. Song about quarrelling.... Headlines about singer and boyfriend quarreling outside a gay bar in Helsinki of all places. That'll keep the tongues wagging over the holidays and Adam on all the gossip shows and sites through the holidays. Just in time for the add dates and single promo (for a song about lover's quarrelling) to kick into high gear. And, really, Finland is a nice touch. It's - I don't know - so European! Kudos. Gotta love rock n' roll. Alway glad to get your input hwc!!! ;D ;D ;D |

So, my husband calls from work today asking if I've heard that Adam was arrested, blah, blah, blah. He knows I have as I drink my first (and second, and sometimes 3rd, today 4th) cup of tea scrolling thru this site. He works at a news bureau and sitting on his desk when he arrived were 4 or 5 printout's of the story from different producers on his floor. They all know I'm a huge Adam fan and have given me unrelenting flack about it over the years. (I will happily admit that many have come on board - yay!). But, seeing the news this a.m., they just couldn't resist trying to get a rise out of me. I don't completely endorse the "any news is good" theory but I took a little satisfaction knowing that at least the newsroom knew Adam's name.

Should be an interesting discussion!!! We are both Aries (birthdays are a day apart) and quite opinionated!!! She follows pop culture quite closely, so I'll need to make sure I have all my facts straight.! ;D At least I can tell her I've been following the story from the get-go and have had info directly from Finnish fans translating info, rather than relying on sensationalistic tabloid reports!! I do plan on calling her out on the "gay" reference tho - that surprised me the most actually! |
