Such said news about Cinderella. The government is put in an impossible position of cancelling the show because of one isolated case, or letting the show go on and risk the virus from spreading. How terrible for everyone involved. Hope the show goes on relatively soon after some quarantine period. Or something.
Ona lighter note, I love Billboard's Highest Paid Musicians of 2020 list! QueenWillRock is right at the top!
I must admit, I too am a bit worried about Adam's Vegas shows in October. Fingers crossed!
And QAL is next year so there shoud be time to get another "recovery" accomplished.

Billboard's Global Highest Paid Musicians 2020 So does this mean Adam is not part of Queen's 2020 earnings? Is this only for their catelog ?

But the continuing reluctance of almost 50% of people to getting the vaccine is a problem and only taking us backwards. I just don’t understand it.

And the people refusing the vaccine are probably the ones screaming the loudest about no masks and about opening everything back up. One of DH's friends, who has NOT been vaccinated, had the audacity to say that because several counties in Cali are back to wearing masks, it's proof that the vaccine doesn't work. DH did tell him that it's because of the # of people that are refusing to get the shot...not sure it registered though.

You can not reason with unreasonable people and you can not shake people who believe strongly in something with no proof. No amount of death and suffering will move them as they are wedded to a concept that if they entertained might be wrong, makes them horrible human beings. I will do my best to protect myself, those I love, and those who are unable to protect themselves like young children and people with underlying conditions or weakened immune systems. But that is all I can do.
I think Cinderella should go on, but require proof of vaccination and Adam should play Vegas but require proof of vaccination. The latter will not happen because this is the USA, but vaccinated people can still go, wear a mask, enjoy the show whole-heartedly, and perhaps isolate for a bit if you have someone at home that may be in danger of severe disease. It's a small risk and not too much to give up for a wonderful show. We now have to give a little more thought to our pleasures but chose ones that count, but that's OK.

Cinderella shutting down has nothing to do with the audience and proof of vaccination. Britain set up some insanely tough rules about contact with one person who tests positive for covid. Basically, everyone else in the production, despite testing negative has to quarantine, without exception. ALW's point is that no cast can operate under such conditions, while elsewhere, the policies are promoting Freedom Day so everyone else can go out to the pubs. The Prime Minister came into contact with one positive person, and immediately tried to make an exception for himself from quarantine, which resulted in much protest from those who otherwise are being subjected to quarantine, for no particular scientific reason.

More thoughts on shows and travel, vax and covid. My hubby and I are fully vax'd - have been since March. New Jersey has opened up, and we live in a relatively rural area, so theoretically we are safe, other than we know that there can be "break-through infections", i.e, we can still get the virus, we probably won't get sick from the virus, but we can spread the virus. Which goes to our relationship with our grandchildren who are not old enough to be vax'd. (We are currently awaiting newest little one, and had to get vax'd for pertussis/whooping cough, which is apparently on the rise.)
I think we will be okay going to Las Vegas. The hotel will have its protocols for rooms and dining, and I'm not going to hang out in the casino. I'll don a mask (or two) in any crowded, not socially distanced areas. I may have to self-quarantine from those grands-coming back and/or get tested.
Hoping for summer 2022. We (perhaps over optimistically) got tickets to QAL in Stockholm. My husband's sister lives in Sweden, and we haven't seen her since 2019, nor have we been to Sweden to see her children, or visit her home for several years. We will hold our breath on getting there in 2022. Frankly, I think covid-19 is going to be around for quite some time, but there will be developing scientific ways to deal with it. Unfortunately, government(s) aren't always on board with that. (See the situation in Great Britain, and also in Australia, where some are more favored than others.)
2019 was such a great year. Our last highlight was actually going to the Global Citizen festival in Central Park, NYC. Who knew that just 6 months later, the world would shut down.
