Cinderella shutting down has nothing to do with the audience and proof of vaccination. Britain set up some insanely tough rules about contact with one person who tests positive for covid. Basically, everyone else in the production, despite testing negative has to quarantine, without exception. ALW's point is that no cast can operate under such conditions, while elsewhere, the policies are promoting Freedom Day so everyone else can go out to the pubs. The Prime Minister came into contact with one positive person, and immediately tried to make an exception for himself from quarantine, which resulted in much protest from those who otherwise are being subjected to quarantine, for no particular scientific reason. This rule is there because people can be infected with this virus and be infecting other people days before they start testing positive themselves. And with the new Delta variant being 4 times as infectious, with the infected expelling 1000 times as many virus particles with each exhalation, compared to the original strain, the infection can spread so much faster through the cast. But I agree that the lack of imposing the same rules in other situations of potential viral spread is unfair. Only the countries that went for a zero covid approach from the beginning, e.g. New Zealand, have avoided the economic devastation. It has always been the wiser approach, but people in too many countries were either unwilling or unable to do the work necessary. Australia went for a zero covid approach and until the Delta variant hit they were succeeding. But recently 1 person with Delta got in and they are now struggling to contain the spread. Same wirh Vietnam. The Delta variant is so dangerous.

donnamb — I think you have made an amazing plan! QAL in Stockholm summer 2022 and seeing family sounds delightful. It's good to be hopeful and realistic and I think travelling next summer is both. So exciting.

Same wirh Vietnam. The Delta variant is so dangerous. While still low, our numbers are rising again as well. They are now wanting to bring the vaccine more to the people, like in shopping malls and make it more uncomplicated as in without an appointment. Masks are still mandetory in shops and such. I dread to think what the fall will bring. Luckily I'm getting my second shot later today!
My last stance on Australia was that they had locked down the greater region of Sydney with 80 cases in total but haven't heard anything since and that has been a while.
