I'm a little drunk right now.
So I want to tell you all about angels, seems like an appropriate time.
Angels have always watched over me and protected me.
Especially since moving to BFE 12 years ago. I have had 3 deer run into me, never got hurt. I live way out in the middle of nowhere, near the Mexican border where bad guys come thru carrying drugs, breaking into houses, stealing cars, etc. My husband travels a lot, and I am home alone a lot in this remote place. If something happened, it would take at least 20 minutes for the Border Patrol/Sherriff to get here, by then it would all be over.
I have never been scared, or lost any sleep, and never had any incidents, other than giving some much needed food to young men who had walked for 8 days to reach the land of opportunity.
My son is home for the holidays, and this morning, we woke up to a White Christmas Eve. Just enough snow on the ground to cover it. We started out to Alpine to do last minute shopping, get stocking stuffers, the traditional and necessary bottles of booze (Irish Creme Liquer is my fave adder to coffe on Christmas morning), food for our Christmas dinner, and to give our son a chance to buy a few presents for the tree.
About 15 miles from Alpine, we encountered icy road conditions, and flew off the curve, rolled our truck, and ended up in the bar ditch. As we started to slide, and DH said "here we go, hold on", I said a little prayer, "Lord please get us home safely".
And He did. Miraculously, we were not hurt at all. My shoulder is bruised, something hit it, but that is no big deal. The window by my head did not shatter, but I was covered in dirt, my face looked like somebody threw dirt in my face. None of us were cut at all. The dogs were scared, but fine.
But, we even drove our truck back home, the top is smashed, and 2 windows blown out plus the back window, and my cell phone is somewhere in that bar ditch. I'm sure the truck will be totalled by the insurance company..
The Lord did get us home safely, and I know that He sent his angels to protect us and watch over us and keep us safe.
We won't have potatoes or rolls with our Christmas dinner. We won't have eggnog or full bottles of bourbon/Irish Creme Liquer/Vodka to drink tonight and tomorrow. We won't have as many gifts in our stockings this year.
But we are uninjured, we are safe at home, and we have each other. Believe it or not, the truck still drives great, and we will drive it this evening when we go out to feed the horses in the pasture.
We are truly blessed, and today, as always, the angels have watched over and protected me and my family.

Especially, I want to thank God for Adam Fucking Lambert, who brought us all together.
Adam, you rock my world. Thanks for the memories, the fabulousness, and all that is to come in 2012.
please - no condolences, gonna take a nap now.
Thank heaven for our guardian angels. Good to hear that you are all OK. You can probably compare notes with Sasha. Wish she'd tell the story behind her rolled SUV.
Merry Christmas
