Yes, it's a news desert out there. But the Clash of the Cover Bands is starting its filming, so we may get some bits and pieces about that. At last we know Adam is busy. Gotta be patient.

2023?? I hope things are okay for QAL for 2022. Sir Elton John postpones German shows
Sir Elton John has postponed the first two weeks of his farewell tour shows until 2023 as he is waiting for Germany to allow full capacity crowds.www.contactmusic.com/elton-john/news/sir-elton-john-postpones-german-shows_6334434I really like Elton and what he represents. He is a music icon who does not need to show how gay he is to make a statement, represent his community and advocate for his causes. He started his career at a time when it was difficult to be open. But he got there and he is proud of who he is and shows it thru his advocacy, foundation and outspoken support for the LGBT Community. He is still flashy even if no longer so OTT (unlike Alice and KISS, he evolved and became less of a character, lol). But he is recognized for his music and success which helps people to listen to what he has to say. Adam is so much younger and has not accomplished as much yet. But he helped to push things forward by being open and himself. He opened things up and made it easier for those who came behind him. And I think he is on his way to being one of the people who will fill that status void when someone like Elton steps off the stage. His enormous talent is recognized and respected. His opportunities and demand are diverse. He is doing great things with his foundation. And he has been a wonderful spokesperson and role model for his community, especially for the youth.

Yikes, hope that's not a sign of QAL 2022 concerts not happening. I don't even know how many German shows QAL has scheduled for next year.

Read Elton's comments on the link. As with so many acts, it's sad to have to postpone his tour for quite a while. I found one thing very interesting about his comments. He said he really didn't want to continue singing his standard mega-hit playlist anymore after so many years. When all in said and done, he is looking forward to being able to play his deeper cuts.
OF COURSE, with Adam as their front man, Queen has been able to throw in those deep cuts with ease on the QAL tours. Adam can handle it all. Just playing the mega-hits can be so mind-numbing, esp. after so many years. I love Elton John. He's truly a rock icon.
lurleene, yes to everything you said. Within any group, straight or gay, there is a wide spectrum of people. Elton and Adam are very different gay men with different things to offer. They don't have to be "the same." I think Adam's status will grow over time, no matter what he does. Singing may turn out to be only one part of it all.

Between Delta and the unvaccinated (due to lack of vaccine or hesitancy) things are not looking too good imo. plus who knows what other variant will emerge

I really have to comment here....Elton John claimed to be bisexual in 1976 and married a woman in 1984...till divorcing her in 1988 so he could finish coming out...and live openly with his preferred partner at the time. Liberace never did officially "come out"; Freddie came out the day before dying of Aids; George Michael was outed by paparazzi; and you cannot compare Kiss and Alice and claim a lack of evolution, as they have nothing to come out for....they are straight and their costumes are show personae only...they are better compared to straight guys who love to dress poorly, as women at Halloween but would scream in panic if they looked good enough to PASS. If looking straight is considered 'evolved' then give me authentic and genuine Boy George or Adam, all dressed out...any day of the week!! jmho and ymmv and that is ok, just not my preference.

I'm not sure why we're always comparing gay performers with one another anyway. Everybody comes out differently, everybody lives differently, everybody performs differently. Elton John was the definition of OTT at one point, now he's in his 70's and can hardly sing anymore and wants to retire. Boy George has made a comeback, or is in the process of making a comeback and still likes to dress up. I have a feeling Adam will always enjoy dressing up, whether classic, or OTT...he just enjoys it.
