Sorta based on the article from yesterday, I agree that it might be hard for fans to accept an Adam and Queen album as the original Queen work is still so popular. But I think if QAL did something for a movie or a few cuts on an Adam album, I think it would work well and with less of a comparison. Like Adam Lambert featuring Roger Taylor and Brian May on an Adam album. Of course on a small indie label, it is unlikely to get any rock radio play but I don't think Roger and Brian's independent works have either. On a movie soundtrack, it might because it would be released on Universal because of Brian and Roger (I'm still a bit surprised that their label has not grabbed Adam unless he is just uninterested). I understand them only wanting to do something if it is good. No one wants to see them put anything half ass out there. But to keep saying it has to be perfect sets up some huge expectations. Or if they simply don't want to do anything together that is fine too. QAL works well as is.

Didn't Queen already put out a couple of albums that were less than well received? I though they had done something with Paul Rogers.
I think at this point, my opinion only, Roger and Brian are pretty happy just riding on their established work, with little solo side projects. And I don't blame them. For their super fans, any album with Adam will be pretty much a non starter to begin with...I seriously doubt their diehards are interested or excited about an album collab. It's been 10 years and I still see some "but Freddie" comments.

Hey, all! Back in town from being in LA and San Diego (where everyone we saw wore masks inside and outside. State mandated).
As for Adam and Queen, I don't see new music happening. I agree with syca. Brian and Roger can relax and do whatever they want with projects here and there. Anyone they want to work with will work with them. I don't see Queen fans going for new music.
Just heard that the huge NYC outdoor concert with major stars had to be shortened due to lightning. Too bad. But JHUD did an opera aria that was outstanding. This is really her year what with the Respect movie (she'll win an Oscar I'm sure.) The aria she did got big accoladed. I would love to see her and Adam do an opera duet sometime. Most people don't know that Adam has some opera training and could certainly hold his own with JHud with no problem. I'd love to see him get that kind of attention.
Glad to be back. Looking forward to Adam's Vegas shows! I wonder if he'll have anything to do with the Brit LGBT Awards on August 27?

Yep. I don't think a new QAL album would be a good idea either which is what I said. But it keeps coming up and they keep making excuses for not doing it. Not sure why they don't just put it to rest once and for all. I think it takes away from what they are accomplishing by always acting as if it is still possible. Just like Freddie is not coming back some will always act as if they are less than without Freddie and less than without putting an album together. Neither would be true but they keep trying to push that narrative by always asking, imo. No shame in saying they don't want to do an album of new work. The live album worked just fine. And I think a movie soundtrack would work fine if the opportunity came up and they wanted to give it a go.
I'm sure jhud did the aria because it was the same one Aretha did at the Grammy's when she stepped in as a replacement for Pavoratti years ago. Aretha brought the house down. The movie has not done well and the reviews are lukewarm. They have said some nice things about Jennifer's singing tho but with the movie coming in 4th (8M) on opening week, and lower the second, it does not seem to have a lot of positive buzz. Good opportunity for her tho so we shall see if she gets some good momentum during awards season.

And I think a movie soundtrack would work fine if the opportunity came up and they wanted to give it a go. They don’t put it to rest, because at least Roger is actually all in for new music with Adam. He more than once said, that he would love to do it. Brian on the other hand is much more reluctant, because their last studio album with Paul Rodgers is considered a fail. But Brian said recently, that they had worked in a recording studio in London with Adam for a week this last year (I suspect in spring this year. while Adam had spent a couple of months in London) and nothing came out of it. At least nothing exceptional enough to put it out. Because Queen wouldn’t just release some ordinary song… it would have to be really great. So I‘m curious now, how they will answer that recurring question for a QAL album in the future. Will they put it to rest now that they’ve actually tried?

When I just logged on and saw the ring picture, I had the same reaction. Great minds think alike!
