Yep. I don't think a new QAL album would be a good idea either which is what I said. But it keeps coming up and they keep making excuses for not doing it. Not sure why they don't just put it to rest once and for all. I think it takes away from what they are accomplishing by always acting as if it is still possible. Just like Freddie is not coming back some will always act as if they are less than without Freddie and less than without putting an album together. Neither would be true but they keep trying to push that narrative by always asking, imo. No shame in saying they don't want to do an album of new work. The live album worked just fine. And I think a movie soundtrack would work fine if the opportunity came up and they wanted to give it a go. I'm sure jhud did the aria because it was the same one Aretha did at the Grammy's when she stepped in as a replacement for Pavoratti years ago. Aretha brought the house down. The movie has not done well and the reviews are lukewarm. They have said some nice things about Jennifer's singing tho but with the movie coming in 4th (8M) on opening week, and lower the second, it does not seem to have a lot of positive buzz. Good opportunity for her tho so we shall see if she gets some good momentum during awards season. Yeah, the movie has not gotten rave reviews. I kind of surprised. I thought it would be a mega-hit from the get-go. But JHud is definitely in her stride and is reaping some well-earned accolades for her role despite the so-so reviews of the movie. We'll see if she gets an Oscar nom. Depends on who she's up against. And I do remember the story of Aretha singing that aria in Pavarotti's place. JHud did it well, I'm sure. I would still love to see her and Adam do a operatic duet. Now THAT would be something. Guess Adam and Oliver are busy rekindling their romantic spark. LOL Good for them. Oliver will in school soon enough and that will take lots of time.

Possible unpopular opinion, but I actually wouldn't care to see JHud duet with Adam. JHud, IMO, is one of those powerful voices who treats a duet as competition and tries to make it all about her. I remember the American Idol Season 12 finale - the one where Adam sang "Titanium" with Angie Miller. JHud sang with the eventual winner, Candace Glover, and to me seemed to do her best to try to blow her off the stage, instead of making a point of giving her a chance to shine. FWIW, I actually preferred Candace's voice, and she held her own very well, but no thanks to JHud. It just hit me wrong - when stars duet with the Idol finalists and do their level best to outshine them, it strikes a nerve with me. I think I've seen her do something similar on another occasion, but I can't remember what it was at the moment. I'm not saying that JHud could overpower Adam - if Adam wasn't willing to be overpowered - but I'd rather see him sing with artists who would appreciate the opportunity to sing with him and would want to work with him, not against him.

Guess Adam and Oliver are busy rekindling their romantic spark. LOL Good for them. Oliver will in school soon enough and that will take lots of time. Ha! I will just have to enjoy you guys enjoy their relationship from the sidelines this time. Oliver seems like a really nice guy and I hope for much happiness for Adam. But after Javi, I just can't make myself that interested. Not only did we have to hear constantly about their Great Love, but about every single move he made. Every selfie he posted of himself dressed up and posing, or dressed like a female or simi-nude or just admiring himself. It was always there. Then when they suddenly broke up, the violins began to play non-stop. Adam had his heart handed to him by a 20 something man and he had no say or any clue about the end of the relationship, to the point he was headed for a breakdown. I never believed that for a moment but it was exhausting and too much. When Adam said no one did anything to hurt anyone and sometimes things just don't work out, it made sense to me.
There has been no overexposure with Oliver and I really do hope it works out for them. I want Adam to be happy but he does not need my opinion or prying to achieve that. So I will try to remain hopeful and detached. Will be nice to see them together and all dressed up at some special events tho, lol.
And I agree with cleopatra, Jhud like Xtina try to outshine and out shout anyone they duet with. It makes it unbearable almost.

I agree about JHud. She has done the same thing with contestants on The Voice. Maybe she doesn’t know how to dial it back and collaborate, or maybe she just starts feeling competitive in the moment??

You guys are braver than I am. I didn't want to be the one who named JHud the "over-power" queen, but you did it for me. Thank you! When I said that I'd like to see her and Adam do an operatic song, I just figured it would be good press for Adam. And it WOULD be. JH is soaring high at the moment. But she DOES over-sing and and over-power. Perhaps she has less control in her quieter range. Lots of big-voiced singers have that problem. That's why they belt all the time. Adam is one of those rare ones who have equal power and control when he sings quietly. It's a natural gift and a result of good training, I think. I've seen JH once or twice doing the duet thing. She does not have good duet instincts like Adam does. All she does is belt.
But I still think she'll get a Oscar nom for the movie. People adored Aretha, and that counts for a lot. And Aretha hand-picked JH. And JH did a fine job. I am not and have never been a fan of her. But that role is perfect for her. I sure hope Adam gets that "perfect" role at some point.
