Hooray! The Cover Bands show has a premiere date! Oct. 13! Looking forward to seeing Adam on TV again. Hope the show gets a good following.
Fun to see the RS cover again. I have my copy safely tucked away for posterity. Talk about a trouser snake.

This is the first one of these that I've watched, and I'll have to go back now to watch the rest lol. Thanks for posting. It ties in beautifully with the post above about Ryan Tedder saying that the classics are strangling new music. Well, when so much of new music is utter crap, people turn to the classics. When you listen to how Under Pressure came about, and the musical brains that just sat down and created this song on the fly, how many bands or solo artists or writers can say that these days? Plus, hubby and I were just talking about something similar the other day. That the last couple of years have been shitty, and people turn to the comfort of the familiar, including music. If you grew up with a certain band or a certain artist, nostalgia is such that you're pretty sure nobody else will ever compare to them. We've seen plenty of that with Adam's journey with Queen.

I'm slow, can somebody explain Adam's IG of his RS cover? Is it the anniversary of the cover or something? I have that magazine...one of the few that I bought.

YaY! the Cover Bands premiere.
HA. Ryan Tedder is fighting a losing battle. He can't blame the classics. Rock radio will hardly allow any new acts to emerge. And the award shows want to put Miley and Billie in the rock categories and pop as well. Then you have rap dominating streaming today along with the same few pop acts. Besides it is hard to compete with the rock acts of old because they could actually rock and put on a show without dancers dominating. I remember reading an article a few years ago and the writer said Adam could rock like the acts of the past. He said his stage presence and performance style made him perfect and few of the newer rock acts had that kind of wow. Of course, I doubt rock radio would ever even play some of his more rock(ish) solo work even if he had a label that would try to get him anywhere other than pop. One Republic is considered a rock band but I think they get more pop radio play than rock. So if I had to pick between OR and Queen, it would be Queen hands down. And even if the classics went away, the rap would still dominate streaming as they do now. And the same few pop acts would get everything else. Ryan is actually lucky as he and the acts he writes for do get thru. And they are heard. There are many other acts who are only heard by their fans for the most part so their music will not go far. And they will get very little, if any, recognition for some very good music.
