My radio station KLLC 97.3 in San Francisco has been playing BTIKM 4 or 5 times a day, but I just checked mediabase to see when it played this morning, and it hasn't been played at all since last night around 11 p.m. which seems unusual since it's usually played at least once by now. And they're the first station to add BTIKM too. Is this typical radio behavior?

Not everyone is reading along as things happen. When people are catching up often posts are made in response to older posts in the thread and without the knowledge that the discussion has moved on from there. For a very long time I would not post at all until I was caught up reading the thread because I didn't want to disrupt discussion with old points. But this meant that I ended up not posting at all.
Then I tried just being very diligent about saying up front that I was not caught up and just wanted to comment, etc. But as time goes on that gets old and tiresome and I tend to forget.Rule of thumb for me is that when a subject is suddenly raised again I try to just assume that the poster is just catching up and is unaware the topic has moved on. Saves me a lot of irritation. Another clue is if they are responding to a post take a look at when that post was made and if it is from much earlier then again they just aren't caught up. I find that most of the time the seemingly unending discussions are the result of not everyone being on the same page at the same time.
This point is ESPECIALLY relevant on this board because of the fact that we have MANY active contributors from different timezones all over the world. Everyone SHOULD have the opportunity to discuss whatever is going on but that means that those who are in it from the beginning need to recognize that others may still have things to say.My New Years resolution is to resolve to be a compassionate poster and realize that not everyone has a chance to read all the back posts. Some people have to just jump in and post even if they don't have time to catch up because otherwise we wouldn't get to hear from them at all and that would be unfair. This insight seems pretty obvious now that I read it, but very good to remember. Also, for "late posters", it seems like you're being ignored a lot but I'm going to try to remember that most posters from the original discussion have moved on in topic or are just plain "off line". 8-)

Since it's a slow news day, I hope people won't be too upset if I bring up The Incident again--not to talk specifically about what happened in Helsinki, but to ask a question that occurred to me and see what everyone thinks about it. What if Adam and Sauli weren't lovers, but friends? What if it had been, say, Adam and Monte who (due to an obvious conflict) got into a drunken scuffle that didn't involve punching or injuries but ended up with the two of them being taken to a police station for a few hours and then released with no charges filed. Would that TMZ guy, or anyone, call that "domestic abuse"? I think the TMZ guy is as guilty of applying a double standard as he's accusing others of doing. He's assuming that if two men are lovers, there's an abuser and a victim. I doubt he would draw that conclusion if the two men were just buddies. Ok, I'll bite. It might be called abuse especially if you are talking about employer and employee. The addition of the term domestic is just indicating that it involves family members. Any time you have a situation involving unequal power dynamics you can use the term abuse as in sexual abuse, child abuse etc. The term abuse is more about the wielding of power in an unethical way. Thus you can have emotional abuse which does not involve violence exactly but rather things like fear, manipulation, humiliation and such. Friends can abuse each other but again the thing is that abuse involves much more than simply fighting it is more about exploitation of an unequal power dynamic. There are many, many situations where the actions themselves may not seem abusive but the intent behind the actions is what tips it over the edge. These are important discussions to have and using the Adam/Sauli incident to bring up the subject is not unreasonable but there is no need for the media to ignore the facts that came to light in order to continue the discussion. They could very well say that it was NOT the case in this instance and yet still ask the questions and open the debate. Add to the confusion that there are very specific legal definitions of words that are not necessarily adhered to by the media or the public at large. An example being that in a particular situation simply laying your hand on someone else arm in the middle of an argument could be LEGALLY labeled as assault although that action in and of itself would not usually be labeled that by the average person. The media takes the legal words used in the police reports and then further sensationalizes them in order to maximize the impact of their stories.

He's assuming that if two men are lovers, there's an abuser and a victim. I doubt he would draw that conclusion if the two men were just buddies. I haven't had my say yet.. LOL.. I really don't think that HL was trying to say that A & S were involved in a Domestic Violence situation.. I really believe he was trying to bring up a discussion in general.. since he IS a lawyer he has got to understand that there is a difference. A&S may be partners but there were no punches, no charges (per A) and so one must surmise that the altercation was just a really LOUD drunken argument that may have gotten out of hand..maybe included some pushing? Domestic Violence is something else entirely..also may involve drinking/drugs.. but there is some clear and present danger involved. Physical threatening etc.. and IT IS VIOLENCE that takes place in a DOMESTIC situation..not a PUBLIC one.. which is where HL loses his thought process so I never understood what he was trying to say since it wasn't Domestic to begin with (and why I thought he was trying to just have a discussion). If this took place at home in Adams house and someone had to call the police.. then it would have fallen in the Domestic Violence/Disturbance catagory.. out in Public, even though they are Partners it would have been Assualt/Battery (example CB & Ri this wasn't Domestic Violence it was Assualt/Battery) I do not feel that any partners regardless of sex are exempt or should be given special treatment. Just would like to keep the terms straight. Which HL wasn't doing.. and OJ/Knife analogy confused things.. since that wasn't Domestic Violence either so I really didn't understand where he was going.. K.. this was my one and only comment on it (I think ???).. ;D sorry I waited so long but I wasn't going to say anything..

Needacoke and I met for breakfast yesterday AM while she was on the way home from Cinci. It was so great to get together again and talk all things Adam and even get to know more about each other. She took a picture and possibly can share it on twitter, if you are interested. The folks around us at Cracker Barrel, thought us a little crazy, but we had fun! Another friendship created and grown by Adam and this board. If any of you ever get the opportunity to reach out to others to meet in person, DO It. It has always been a wonderful experience for me! So my Best of 2011 was getting to know you all betterer and this wonderful man we stan - Adam. I had a great time with babs!!!!! We first met at mayumi's GNT DVD party last year but never got a chance to talk to each other much with all the Adam stanning going on. ;D She's right - any time you have the opportunity to meet any of the fantastic people on this board - DO IT! I'm looking forward to seeing babs again - and many more of you on the 2012 TOUR! Here's our pic together twitpic.com/7zcb6u
