Damn, they pulled out all the stops! I saw Peter Suschitzky and did not believe my eyes, but it looks like at the age of 80 he is still active and the only DOP with that name... He was behind the camera on legendary movies like The Rocky Horror Picture Show, Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back, and Mars Attacks!, to name just a few. It's not what I assume to be the "regular" Gucci promotion, although I can't say I know what that would be. I've seen print ads but nothing in video before. 'Course I'm not Gucci's target audience either, so there's that. LOL We all know that Adam LOVES Gucci and sings their praises. He looks great in their stuff. Love hearing Adam's insights at his brunch. Looks like it was a success! |

Just sort of musing here....but wouldn't it be great if as a group they could cooperatively pool their resources and create an Album called something like "QUEER" and have each of the group donate and release a track on the record. You have names from Adam and Demi....then you have LP; Ferras; Justin Crumb; Mary Lambert; Camilla Grey who have credible musical connections and a fair amount of recognition. You have many there I clearly do not know well. Then there are a few that have known Adam for years but were not there...but are immensely talented and could give benefit...and get benefit...from being involved...Jake Shears; JustinTrantor; Vincent; who am I missing here? there are so many really gifted and talented queer folk that don't seem to have a real shot at authentic musical representation. There is always more power in numbers and this could be a strong synergy...
There is always a temptation to include known and proven allies but in this case, I think that would only dilute the product and message....
Just my usual daydreaming....
Now I have to focus on sad things...a friends brother just passed from Covid [double vaxxed but with a myriad of health challenges] and the Celebration of Life for a loved SIL. Be back later....
Interesting idea. I wonder how hard it would be to put that together with everyone on different labels? Sorry to hear about your friends -- especially your friend's brother. The anti-vaxxers don't seem to get it that their actions affect others -- or they don't care. |

Gucci's vision of androgyny is more in line with my own, except maybe less sparkly, fewer nose rings, and shorter nails. I can definitely see Oliver as a part of the vibe. Gucci is a luxury brand, of course, but I wonder if the post-pandemic era will support that kind of decadence. I think the summer was expected to be almost a Roaring 20s repeat after months of deprivation but even with vaccinations, Delta covid put a kibosh on much of the revelry. I guess we'll see. Anyway, I wonder if Adam will shave to get more into the Gucci Aria vibe. Hope springs eternal, although at this point I might not even like it.
