It's funny. The first time I listened to the EMA performance, I noticed the "pitchiness" (sp?). Now that I've listened to it a million times, I no longer hear it...in fact, after reading your post I had to go back and listen again to listen for it. Guess the EPIC nature of it overall just overshadows any technical flaws. #epicperformance Me, too. On first viewing, I thought it was a marvelous performance that brought tears to my eyes because of the significance of the event, but also thought it wasn't his best vocals. Upon repeated viewings there was so much epic in the performance visually, stylistically, emotionally, and in terms of power and presence that a few botched notes seemed insignificant. From a technical POV, not Adam's strongest vocal, but from an overall performance POV, it ranks among my favorites. First time I heard the EMA performance I was just happy I was still alive LOL. 2 hours before I felt a heart attack/stroke/nervous breakdown approaching. I don't remember now what I thought the first time but I certainly didn't think "oh now here is a flat note, oh here is another one". Just my opinion but that is not the way I listen to music (by everyone, not only Adam), because I always have in mind that it is LIVE performance, it is ONE performance and that the voice is one of the most difficult instruments, because I know how difficult it is to go on a stage to perform in front of an audience, because I know that the most important thing is the interpretation not one millisecond with a problem. To me, it is the musician's job to go home, think, analyse every millisecond, practice and improve. Of course the audience listens, knows, understands, feels and critisises. But for me the right thing to do is thankfully applaud, not search for the imperfections. Especially in Adam's case I have noticed that ALL his performances, live or recorded, sound better to me with repeating hearings (not viewings). Not stylistically and visually but vocally, musically and emotionally, yes, while with the other singers the performance sounds the same. That tells me that my mind is not capable enough of absorbing everything immediatelly and that I am too "small" to judge him, like I would never, even though I am a pianist, judge Rachmaninoff's/Richter's/Argerich's/other so important pianist's performance or phrasing or tempo or sound or whatever. And if I hear wrong notes somewhere during the performance, I'm sure they knew/know it too.

Not sure if this is legit or not. @illuxxia told me it was a spambot Though this reminds me that I would really enjoy a joint interview with them both and wonder if we'll get one when Adam does Finnish promo or tours in Finland next time.

I wish all music reviewers would actually post their bio's so we'd know what sort of background and bias they bring to the review. Subjective opinions are just that and I'm not too sure that everyone fully understands that implication. From a personal point of view, I show dogs. There is a lot of bragging going on ringside. Champion this and champion that, wins over specials, etc. I always ask which judge awarded the honors. If it's a breed judge, I'm impressed. If it's a judge that knows many breeds but is not breed specific, I consider the source. Ice skating performances used to be very subjective too but they've taken steps to improve their scoring. Of course, everyone is entitled to their opinion. It is up to us to consider the validity of the person giving the opinion.
BTW, I've had a POP station on all afternoon waiting for BTIKM -- haven't heard it yet -- HOT 99.5.

I kind of check there every once in a while now but basically they aren't going to be satisfied until Adam does something that THEY consider rock in their own tiny minds and it seems they subscribe to that sad formula which says that unless you sound like you are passing a kidney stone you can't possibly have any soul. I think Adam is actually too good for them to be able to appreciate although they do acknowledge that as far as technique goes he's a beast. Yes, for many of them if Adam does not wail or hit the high notes it is not good enough and he wastes his talent. They thought OoL is lame and BTIKM is generic and sounds like Daniel Badingfield (or however he is called). Yeah, I've found them last winter and began to read thinking that 'okay, I'm no expert, let's hear what people who can hear might say' and grew more and more disappointed since - why waste so many pages talking about someone you clearly don't like more often than not I like discussions here so much better

gelly14 oh I found this girl on Twitter. Yes, they were having a discussion about Adam and Queen. Something about that Adam don't want to replace Freddie, she wanted it to be clear to the people who are Queen fans and to all who are not Adam's fans. And DJ said that he thinks that Adam is very talented guy.
