Is that maybe why Gaga's performane wasn't included on the recent Queen live album? Gaga literally did not know the words to the song for her part…. It appeared Adam saved her by leaning in towards her and singing, and she joined in. If it were such a privilege one would think she would know her part. Demi’s voice collapsed/went quiet, mouthing, then softly singing the words. The cameras catch things so up close….making it easier for the Adam styled version, slip up, to jump out to Adam fans. I like Demi just fine. She's been a professional for a long time. But on this particular night, she did that song no favors. Adam smoothed in out quite well. Adam's been singing this song in his shows for going on 13 years. Other than Tears For Fears themselves, it's pretty much his song, IMO. He's probably sung it more than anybody. Haven't heard Demi's album version but I'm sure it's fine. The duet was just a bit rocky. And yes, Adam absolutely saved Gaga's butt by pulling that song along to its clunky end. Brian and Roger had their work cut out for them, too, trying to keep it all together. You'd think that Gaga would realize that just showing up is not always enough. |

Ok, just got a chance to listen to Mad World...am I the only one that thinks that was a hot mess? What the hell were those harmonies Demi tried to sing? Sorry, that made me cringe. Wish Adam could have sung that by himself. Mad World is Adam's song lol. I did enjoy Super Power...that was fun and he sounded really good. Mad World is best sung by Adam alone. Period. He owns that song. I didn't think his duet with Demi was a hot mess, but nothing can compare to Adam's own solo version. Sure, their harmonies weren't real tight, and I missed Adam's soaring "look right through meee" moment. But it was Demi after all, and she's pretty major, so I was happy with it over all. I thought about that utter debacle when Gaga showed up to sing with Queen. It was truly unbearable. I'll take a slightly less stunning Mad World over that disaster any day. Not picking on you specifically, since everyone seems to be doing it, but Demi is now using they/them pronouns. As is Sam S. |

I knew Demi had MW on her album but I don't think she added a lot to the performance. It was a good performance but Adam has been known for that song for years. Sorta hard to walk that back tho he did seem to hold back a bit. I guess that is what I dislike the most about his duets as he sometimes holds back. He did let it rip at the end of Girl Crush tho and it was splendid, lol.
I wasn't too excited about Adam's outfit. But Adam and Demi looked good. But he did say his fashion was a consideration of late. But I loved the green suit he wore for his on-line concert but the gray suit on the red carpet in London I did not care for as much.
