As for the single, I was just asking based on how posters on other boards are already writing it off with their predictions.

I haven't noticed anyone who knows how radio and sales work saying that. Looks good to me. We knew that was going to happen. Actually it stayed on iTunes longer than I thought it would. I think the people who are saying it is flopping are hoping for that to happen or simply don't understand. Angst is catching. Don't let it get you!!! :D |

Of course that got me curious in wanting to know if it's performance is below expectation for a song with that radio chart. |

I haven't noticed anyone who knows how radio and sales work saying that. Looks good to me. We knew that was going to happen. Actually it stayed on iTunes longer than I thought it would. Check out the Pulse thread for Kelly's song Mister Know It All. They were all doom and gloom throughout the song's entire run yet the song made it to #11 on Pop and #1 on HAC. There will ALWAYS be people predicting dire failure and this happens to all artists, not just Adam or even Idols. I clearly remember hearing people talking about how Madonna's 15 minutes were up and she was never gonna amount to any thing but this was 10 years in to her career when she was already a major superstar. The people on Pulse are not necessarily any more "expert" than anyone else and they have their biases just as the posters on idol fan boards do. You have to read through a lot of dreck before you figure out who is relatively objective. |

Adam is still the new kid on the block and although WWFM made top 10 on the hot 100 it peaked at #13 on Pop and IIHY you only made it to #16. It's not like he's had blockbuster smashes. Adam is being talked about in a MUCH more positive light by DJ's this time around. A lot of the snark has been dropped and there is much more mention made of his incredible voice rather than the focus on the "gay" that he had last time around. It feels as if there has been a definite shift in the attitude towards Adam and I think we will see this in the coming weeks. I personally think the reason they set the impact dates for the end of January was so that they would have time to get the video filmed and launched with or at least near the impact dates. Adam has a great track record for his video driving sales. It seemed to me that when RCA was working IIHY they really didn't do a push to radio until the video was out. The other thing is that there has definitely been a shift in the attitude about the fans coming from radio. They are much more on board with the gung ho nature of the fans than they were the first time around and I really feel that credit for that goes both to Adam for consistently and definitively defending his passionate fans and the reputation the fans have earned for supporting charitable causes. Radio has been reaching out and engaging us rather than being defensive and combative as they were in the beginning. I really think we have only good things to come.  |
