My S*&@^#r, part of the reason I don't follow the numbers closely is I see half the fans doing this:    and the other half doing this:   over the same data. It's quite puzzling to me I think the fans doing this, just are not numbers' people and don't know what they are seeing! Truly! And here is an interesting post from an exPFer that did not make the transiiton to ATop. I met her in FS (I think) and I don't think she would mind me posting it here (from MJ's) Based on the average, current top 10 songs on Top 40 have been on the chart for 130 days, top 20 110 days. And HAC is eerily similar. Adam Lambert has been on the HAC chart for 10 days and he is #42....and he hasn't broken onto the pop charts yet.
Now Kelly has been on the pop chart for 15 days with Stronger and it is up to # 24 (go Kelly). But the #10 song has been on the chart for 208 days (7 months). I think all of this points out that "charting" is not always done swiftly and that there are lots of scenerios for climbing up the charts and for most it does take some timeETA: He actually is on the Pop charts, just not top 50.  |

Hey guys, I have a question. I'm not a numbers regular but I tiptoed in today because I know it's adds day. Do the adds come in by a certain time of day and that's why people are saying it's going to be a long ride? Because BTIKM hasn't gotten a lot of adds by noon EST? Just curious and a little confused. I thought they came in all day long but I really don't follow this stuff.

Hey guys, I have a question. I'm not a numbers regular but I tiptoed in today because I know it's adds day. Do the adds come in by a certain time of day and that's why people are saying it's going to be a long ride? Because BTIKM hasn't gotten a lot of adds by noon EST? Just curious and a little confused. I thought they came in all day long but I really don't follow this stuff. Last week and for many weeks, they came in last minute. That would be around 6:10 Eastern time! : ETA: I just checked adds by station and right now only 17 stations, nationwide, have checked in. Also, want to add that Lancaster being a Clear Channel station is a very good sign! |

Yes in Amish country. LOL Near me. There are now TWO Top40 stations in SE PA that added BTIKM. SE PA rocks!!! Now COME ON Q102!!!I know! Hard to believe Moser is in PA! : And he's affiliated with B104!!! But that's why I don't see a problem giving him hits. He mentions Adam a lot & that's a good thing. It's not always bad (or inaccurate LOL). He gave a very good review for GNT at Musikfest. |

And once again thanks for talking us me down from the ledge. Your 2 last posts really show that the song is doing well taking the timeline into consideration. I'm trying to be a Numbers person - I'm just too emotional yet. Btw - B104 (Allentown) is also CC & they added 3 weeks ago. myspenser - do you think another reason for angst from us newbie numbers folks is comparing to KC's MKIA and WDKY? I know that's part of it for me. |

It is best to not compare Adam to Kelly. Kelly has 10 years, 5 albums and 6+ #1 songs behind her (and she's a girl). Adam hasn't yet proved himself to radio. He is not going to race up the charts like she did. He will have to work for it like all the other relatively new artists out there. Remember, it took Gaga a couple albums before she took off.

I'm sneaking in with a question too. What does monitored and unmonitored mean? Monitored stations are the ones that mediabase counts when they calculate the rankings for the charts. The unmonitored spins do not count on the charts, but every spin helps to sell the song. So all adds and spins are GOOD!!! ;D ;D ;D |
