Did you see where Q3 backed it up? I'm not saying that the push isn't being ramped up tomorrow or this week or next week. I think, since this is adds week, next week was the original date, and promo stated last week..... that was most likely the original plan. The fact that Toby thinks he is saying something earthshattering or new just makes me go : Yep, he's just stirring shit!~

Mahalia was afraid to venture into the numbers thread to post this, so I am quoting it here. It's a good summary of the status of BTIKM right now. This should probably be in the numbers thread, but it scares me: requestadamlambert.com/2012/01/24/new-stations-playing-adds-recap-and-analysis-cd-praise/New Stations Playing; Adds Recap and Analysis; CD Praise Posted on January 24, 2012 by RequestAdam More than 110 stations have now played BTIKM at least 1x! Several new stations have played the song in the past few days; among them HAC station WBZZ in Pittsburgh and Top 40 station WEBZ in New Orleans. See updated list. (more) This is something us non numbers berts can understand. Looks good to me!

Warning!! Just felt like I needed to put my two cents in on something, feel free to ignore.
I totally realize this is a dead horse but I want to use this statement from Toby to point out how important it is to READ CAREFULLY. I have tried to follow along today from my phone and I'll admit it was a bit confusing but the thing I saw repeated over and over was that what Toby was saying was that RCA stated to "a source close to the label" that they were not happy with the sales.
If the above statement is what Toby wrote then a careful reading shows that NOWHERE in that statement does he say anything definitive about RCA other than that they "have expressed a degree of interest" in single sales.(ETA: correction there is nothing in the statement that RCA says just sources close to the label.) The descriptor of "what could be considered" does not state outright that sales are not what they should be it simply suggests the possibility that they might not be considered good. Furthermore since none of this is direct quotes from RCA you have a layer of interpretation placed there by Toby's source coloring the way they worded it to him, then another layer of interpretation from Toby himself. The final statement of "it's believed" etc tells us nothing either. Believed by WHO? The source, whose biases are unknown, or Toby who has a bias all his own. They do not say that the label says they expected more they say it's believed the label expected more.
Toby should quit radio and go to work for a political campaign. I can come up with dozens of possible conversations that could be spun this way even if the conclusion was that Adam's sales were fine. There is absolutely NOTHING in this statement that cannot be walked back at a later date if firmly contradicted.
Yes I am ignoring that Q3 also said her contacts said something similar and I will tell you why. In my experience, more often than not, people within and industry who are leaking info to outsiders are not going to be giving the straight dope. Q3 herself in the past has occasionally commented that her contacts gave her bad info so why should we take this as gospel. So much depends on whether the info was volunteered out of the blue or was in response to questions and that doesn't even begin to get in to the motivation of the person leaking the info. I've known many who just love the thrill of knowing something you don't and will make up or twist facts to get a thrill out of giving it to you. They also will often spin it in whatever way will get the biggest reaction out of the person they are talking to. So if someone is concerned about something they will spin things to ramp up that concern rather than to reassure.
There is absolutely nothing that has come out that is any different than the typical garden variety chicken little type prognostications that you can find in pretty much any message board thread about a single from pretty much anyone. After re-reading the Pulse threads for Adam's FYE singles a while back I started reading a couple of Gaga threads and Kelly's MKIA thread and there is all the same wailing and gnashing of teeth going on and none of it does the artist in question any good whatsoever. I also don't buy any theory that the supposedly sudden ramp up that Toby is tweeting about now is in any way a response to this bullshit. Any promo stuff that happens in the next few days certainly has already been in the works for a while. What's so sudden about it any way. Adam has been doing promo of one kind or another all of last week and already starting this week so where is the evidence of any sudden changes. We've had an idea the MV would be coming out about this time ever since they filmed it and we have the previous evidence of the IIHY radio campaign to support the idea that any major push would coincide with the video premier. Adam has been TOTALLY relaxed in all these interviews. Nothing like the game face he was showing dealing with all the AMA fallout so I doubt seriously that there is anything to be concerned about at this point.
Believe me in that I understand the Debbie Downers because I was one for the majority of my life, but all I'm saying is that if you take the time to look closely at things and always, always, consider the source you can save your selves A LOT of needless worry. It is one thing to worry about FACTS and quite another to go off half cocked based on rumors or someones spin. It is worth it to learn how read between the lines, sort out the facts from the spin before freaking out.
Now if you'd rather just freak the fuck out over every little thing by all means don't let me stop you because of course everyone has that right but don't be surprised if the more optimistic peeps get tired of people poking holes in their balloons. I've been both the poke-er and the poke-ee so I can relate to both sides and when I was in downer mode I got pissed at people telling me don't worry be happy and now that I'm happy(er) I get pissed when people rain on my parade.

I just want to apologize to the "yesberts". I was using that as more of a title last night for the very few doom and gloom crazies that I've seen on Twitter. The yesbert title has become synonymous with those very few people and I am used to seeing it used that way at other places. Due to the fact that it is wrong to label a whole group of people for the actions of a few, I would like to say that I am truly sorry. The people who watch the charts and report on the numbers are invaluable and they have helped so many of us learn so much over the past two years. I appreciate those of you who are doing that job here at ATOP and others who do the same at other boards!

hopping and lurking around and I found something that made me go hmmm.... at AO, and may (possibly?) align with the theory that today wasn't actually the Top 40 impact day for BTIKM. In this thread www.adamofficial.com/us/node/1144877Different posters reported that one Canadian Station and three US stations have told them they don't have the song yet so can't play it (although two of the DJs said they want to/will when they get it.) *Scratching my ears in puzzlement*
