We're 7 weeks away from album drop and the single came out (using January and not Dec) more than 2 months before. I would guess that RCA knows it is an HAC song that has to crossover to Top 40 and this is why they gave it so much lead time before the album. 7 weeks is plenty of time to build buzz from this single. As a matter of fact, if it builds too fast, they may have to release another one by March 20th! <<< (sarcasm) ;D

IDK, maybe I'm just naive, but RCA has put in so much effort and money into Adam's album why would they not do everything they can to support him? I'm with Cassie on this one. Adam is happy and living his dream. His climb may be slow and steady but he is creating a larger and larger WORLDWIDE fan base. All is good.

I think the RCA tweet is just RCA being excited and aware, I can't read anything more into it.
The Chicago spins are good news because it means Chicago area fans can start requesting more in a market that has traditionally been harder for Adam. It's good news that they added the song to their Takeover/U Mix It.
I wonder how much radio looks at track sales when deciding when to add, BTIKM after the first two weeks basically dropped way down compared to sales off all of Adam's other singles. Understandable as there wasn't really much promo to bring awareness of it. I wonder if it's a which comes first chicken/egg scenario? Radio play is needed for sales, but are sales needed for radio play?

Sometimes they get really bold and drop 12 weeks out! Adam's singles take a LONG time to build. (and that is with getting bigger add #s and larger spin increases every week) They usually take about six months to peak. 7 weeks away is not going to be a problem. Why would RCA release an HAC song when Adam has WWFM and IIHY that built on primarily CHR stations? Why start out an era with an HAC song if the album is full of Pop songs and Adam is a Pop artist? These are some of the problems I have with RCA! I just can't believe RCA thought that BTIKM was going to be an HAC song. If they did, and they pursued that course with that strategy- WHY? What is the reasoning?

What is the reasoning? I get their strategy though. Adam is most known for WWFM and this song is in the same style. It's is a good song. Maybe RCA should have been bold and started off with one of the other songs. But I think they are gun shy after the FYE mess and were trying to be conservative. Even Adam said, once in a very brief interview, that his choice was Cuckoo.
