Thanks savvy, I wish you could be back in Myrtle Beach as well. Whiny is ok, it will just blend in with the drizzle and no one will notice. Ha, if I ever let my mood match the weather, that will be the day I say, "Adios!" Or, maybe the day I chuck real life altogether and find a hovel to inhabit in WEHO. I will take this first day of 2012 to share a plan I have kept in reserve for over 2 years now. A very good friend of mine has 2nd cousins with whom she is very close who are established Hollywood celebrities. Depending on projects, going from A- to C category...never sinking to Kathy Griffin's D list. She and I came up with a plan that if I ever find out I have 6 months to live, they will throw a party and invite Adam (and me, of course) to give me an opportunity to really meet him. Our thought is that he would probably come if invited because the husband gets involved in some interesting projects, acting,directing, producing. I was the wife's babysitter during my friend's wedding because all the relatives pester her at family functions. She invited me to stay with them any time I was in S CA, but you know, it was one of those "let's do lunch" kind of things that we assume no one will follow up on. The wedding was few years pre-Adam, so no groundwork was laid. It's good to have an ATOP family to share with because my family would have me committed if I told them. Even if I were boarding the plane to LA, I would make up some sensible reason I was going rather than tell them the truth. When I think about this scenario I find myself humming STILL CRAZY AFTER ALL THESE YEARS.... Ha Use the great job interview story and ask for a recommendation for a good area to stay for that week (let's say). Even if you have a great job now, one can always explore another great opportunity. An invite could just naturally come as you've given a time limit and anyone would want to support a job interview. OMG -- you should just do it. |

I thought things were changing between S & A when S blogged that it felt good to be back in Cal and he felt that he belonged there. I was hoping that they would be able to work out the international long-distance different cultures native tongue difference thing. It will be interesting to see how they work out the tour thing. When I first saw the picture from the NYE outing, I thought it was at a funeral home. Then someone pointed out the logo so, I guess not! Happy New Year Everyone! I was so ridiculously happy to see that Happy New Year Adam trended last night. Three years of berting and no end in sight -- happily! Sauli said in one of his blogs that after they got back to LA, he (they) spent 3 days indoors recovering from jetlag. What I'm thinking is that besides just sleeping, they have been talking a lot about their life and future and how much they want to have a life together. They seem so happy and relaxed now, although they always have seemed very happy to me. I agree with mys*&@^#r that they have been so lucky to have a year to spend together as Adam has been able to stay at home. Their relationship seems very strong and I couldn't be more happy for them.  And on a more shallow note...what kind of a tattoo shop turns these two sweeties away if they want to get matching finger tattoos? Don't they know how important this is to us them?  j/k I also don't think Adam would just "show up" without an appointment, either. He knows how things work and doesn't seem to count on being given special treatment unless it is planned that way, VIP sections, etc. Unless they were out roaming and it was a spur of the moment decision. |

 I hope you all had a ball yesterday, and this brand new year 2012 has started well!I am always the last one to notice anything going on with RL people around me, but... I think something has changed between these 2 guys. At first I thought it was just damage management after the incident, but it is over already. On the top of obvious, like using Adam's name, pictures and common signature, the tone in Sauli's blogs (both of them) is somehow more relaxed, confident , and also like, more independent. Can't really convey that into translations. Dear other native Finns, so you also have this feeling or is it just me? I agree with you, boys are much more open now. I think that their relationship has grown and has strengthened the confidence to another, so that they dare to show their feelings also publicly. But the dark side of my whispers to me: hopefully they will not try to prove anything to the world. Because they do not need, their lives are their own. (Of course, not just their own, but also our own...) |

The fact that Sauli is using Adam's name now, has posted pics of the two of them, and used the "/S&A" signature twice... I think is kind of meaningful. He has been SO discreet and circumspect about their relationship and very careful to protect Adam. He still is, but these things indicate a level of comfort on his part, and I'm guessing that they talk about what he posts and of course that Adam is perfectly fine with it. Naturally, we know nothing, but sometimes a difficult incident can lead to important conversations. Definitely seems like they're in a good place, and I'm happy for them both. For me it also looks like the incident has made their relationship even stronger than it was. They must have had horrible feelings in the morning when waking up after it and not being able to talk to each other.  Perhaps they both were afraid of loosing each other and realized that they couldn't survive it.  |

Like you said, we know nothing really, but my take has been that Adam could very well have been secretly afraid of Sauli going back home to Finland. After all he did give up quite a bit to go to LA and at the back of Adam's mind there could have been a very real fear that Sauli would not want to leave Finland again. When Sauli made that first post from Finland about seeing all his friends again and what a fantastic time they had I wondered how that would feel. Not saying that Sauli meant any harm but it is the kind of thing that would pick at someone's insecurities. Then when it seemed that Adam suddenly changed his flight and showed up in Finland I felt like maybe he needed to get there as soon as possible to reassure himself that everything was ok. The fight itself could have been about nothing in particular but perhaps fueled by fears on both sides. It might even have been a blessing in disguise in some ways as it could have pushed them both into really laying their cards on the table. A real watershed moment which seems to have left them in a more secure place. These things are scary because they so easily can go the other way but sometimes an event like this really allows both parties to clear the air and really look at things they've perhaps been afraid to address. I am thankful that it seems they have strengthened their relationship and come through this still together rather than having it all go south as it seems to have done for Katy Perry and Russell Brand. May 2012 truly be their year. I want Adam's album to do well and all but I want even more for he and Sauli to continue to have a strong and abiding love for one another. |
