It's interesting to hear you Finns mentioning a shift in tone in Sauli's blog posts because I felt like something had changed a bit also but I know how hard it is to capture something so subtle in a translation.

The fact that Sauli is using Adam's name now, has posted pics of the two of them, and used the "/S&A" signature twice... I think is kind of meaningful. He has been SO discreet and circumspect about their relationship and very careful to protect Adam. He still is, but these things indicate a level of comfort on his part, and I'm guessing that they talk about what he posts and of course that Adam is perfectly fine with it.

Like you said, we know nothing really, but my take has been that Adam could very well have been secretly afraid of Sauli going back home to Finland. After all he did give up quite a bit to go to LA and at the back of Adam's mind there could have been a very real fear that Sauli would not want to leave Finland again. When Sauli made that first post from Finland about seeing all his friends again and what a fantastic time they had I wondered how that would feel. Not saying that Sauli meant any harm but it is the kind of thing that would pick at someone's insecurities. Then when it seemed that Adam suddenly changed his flight and showed up in Finland I felt like maybe he needed to get there as soon as possible to reassure himself that everything was ok.

The fight itself could have been about nothing in particular but perhaps fueled by fears on both sides. It might even have been a blessing in disguise in some ways as it could have pushed them both into really laying their cards on the table. A real watershed moment which seems to have left them in a more secure place. These things are scary because they so easily can go the other way but sometimes an event like this really allows both parties to clear the air and really look at things they've perhaps been afraid to address.

I am thankful that it seems they have strengthened their relationship and come through this still together rather than having it all go south as it seems to have done for Katy Perry and Russell Brand. May 2012 truly be their year. I want Adam's album to do well and all but I want even more for he and Sauli to continue to have a strong and abiding love for one another.[/quote]

Your take is interesting and could be close to the truth. I often thought when reading Sauli's laments that he missed family and friends that it could make Adam, if nothing else, feel bad. Even when we say we want a partner or friend to be honest with us we are hurt when it isn't what we wanted to hear. It's not like Sauli is someone who didn't have a good life before he left. If you are drinking, jet-lagged, and insecure, just one word can set off an unfortunate chain of events, and seemingly did.

To wake up with the reality of what you've done is hard in the best of circumstances, but to do it in jail, in a foreign country, in front of the world had to have been devastating. I don't see Adam as a person who needs a sycophant, but someone who wants a real partner. We all like to be kowtowed to sometimes but in a good relationship the partner knows when to give in and let the other have his victory. It's all about give and take and respect. They seem to have that and if it was at the expense of nightmarish experience, so be it. My mantra has always been, the past is past, where are things NOW.

Okay, pretty embarrassing that I keep calling my adorable first granndchild Sauli. His name is Sully (Sullivan) so hopefully his parents don't notice????

I thought Adam and Alison did a great job together with Aftermath. I mean, he had been singing it every night almost for months and she stepped right in and held up her end very well. They sound great together. I wish she would have sung the 2nd night as well. I wonder if the Cherry's plan on producing another Zodiac show. The website is still operational. It seems like they could solicit some really great local talent. Just rambling.

LOL yippie. They say that you should visualize what you want to happen and it will happen. So I am guessing from this question that you often imagine walking down a street and suddenly seeing the man in person. Maybe if you role play long enough, you won't be struck dumb or revert to a six year-old on Christmas morning.
