I just watched an interview that I pulled up on George Michael. I guess I was not paying too much attention to him when he was very popular. Very interesting. But that interview was brutal. To see him deny that he was gay when asked directly was painful. But I don't think he felt he had much choice during that time. He also seemed very hurt that Boy George was trying to out him to the press and public. Apparently that killed their friendship(don't know if they ever made peace). Glad Adam came along when he did. Yes some things were made harder for him because he was open about his sexuality in the beginning. And even tho some were intrusive and wanted to talk gay gay gay all the time, that was mild in comparison. And it was rather insulting to watch George being badgered for leaving WHAM. As George explained, he wanted to grow, grow up and present a more mature image. He didn't want to be in his mid twenties and still acting and looking as if he were still a teen. The way his career advanced said he made the right choice. I think artists who refuse to grow out of the kiddie act become stale and silly looking over time. Yes you want new and younger fans but you also want to keep the fans who have grown and want to see you grow as well. George made that happen but he was still a tortured soul because of circumstances.
Oliver in shorts conversation got me looking up temperatures in Copenhagen and London now. They’re about the same as here — hovering under 10 degrees C. Adam, a Cali boy, is probably feeling the chill. Oliver, on the other hand, probably thinks it is pretty warm in Los Angeles. Plus he is young. I had a nephew who wore shorts pretty well all year round. If it was really cold, he might put a toque (or a toboggan:) )on. Plus Oliver does have nice legs. They look really long in that photo. I wonder how tall he is?
