Hope other people can see this. He is shopping in London as we speak. General consensus is his mask is down so he can smell the candles.

Hope Adam is careful while he's in London. Is Adam going to London soon? This photo was taken in the UK.

I hope Adam stays safe. So far, it seems that Omicron is very contagious but isn't as virulent. Still, many people will end up in the hospital. A couple I know who are double vaxxed and careful, came down with Covid recently. They said it was like having a bad cold.
Here in BC, we have to wear masks indoors in public spaces (except to eat and drink). We also have a vaccine passport to get into any non-essential public spaces like restaurants, bars, theatres, arenas, etc. Our vaccine rate is 78%. Despite all this, numbers of Covid cases are still high and our health care system is struggling.

I keep saying that I should document all this in a journal. Back in March 2020, it was "a two-week pause". And, make sure you have groceries to last two weeks (or was it two months?) Masks - either told not necessary, or the New York Times printed a pattern to knit a cover for a cut-up vacuum bag.) Church tried to continue on in February 2020. The Holy Handwash made its way to the altar and at the entry to the church. We were advised by the Bishop that silver chalices stopped the "germs", that if we wanted to take communion in the form of bread AND wine, we had to drink from the silver chalice, not dip the bread into it. On March 20, 2020, my office shut down - as in gather up what you need to work with from home and get out of here in the next hour. Our law practice mostly revolves around condominium and homeowner associations, so I spent legitimate hours watching governors' press conferences on restrictions. And the horrific hours watching reports of mounting deaths and hospitals being overwhelmed. I had been court-appointed as a guardian for a medically-compromised schizophrenic woman who resided at the nursing home in New Jersey which became the poster for nursing home disasters with bodies piling up in closets over the Easter/Passover weekend. (She was not infected, thankfully.)
I think I can assess the risks here, and even went out to Las Vegas for Adam's shows. One daughter and family went to California over Thanksgiving to sightsee and visit family. All precautions taken, no infections.
The next goal is to do an extended visit to Sweden to visit family we haven't seen in so long. Which also coincides with the Queen concert in Stockholm. My sister-in-law there is busy making plans and hotel reservations. I think she is like me - if I book it, it will happen.

Sorry for the rant. Adam is vaxxed. Even his father had to take a covid test to go backstage in Las Vegas. I'm in the NYC area and two of the artists featured at the NY concert for the Christmas concerts - including Lil NasX - can't continue on the tour as one or more of their crew tested positive for covid.
I'm not sure how much this is over-reaction to the new variant, or just acknowledging that vax is not enough.

The new variant is much more transmissible than Delta...and there are too many damn unvaccinated to go through.

I like that rather "natural" picture of Adam in the London store, though I am surprised that he is not the only one who didn't keep the mask on. May be Adam was indeed only smelling the candles.
I think we will have to deal with Covid for a while until hopefully we will be able to really tackle it as a global issue. Of course it doesn't help that some of those who are offered free vaccination refuse to get it.
Here in the SF Bay Area the vaccination rate is in the high 70's percentage wise or even above (SF is at 80%) and people are wearing masks indoors and even at public gatherings outside, except when eating, so I feel okay safety wise. I can't wait for some degree of normalcy again though, which includes traveling.
