What's that wall thing they keep looking at?
With those heeled shoes, Oliver is as tall as Adam. Adam is looking very good!

Nice to see that picture of a relaxed "family" beach outing. I am not a fan of Malibu though with all these beach houses crammed at a narrow piece of land lining the beach. I am a much bigger fan of our Northern California beaches and the ones on the Central Coast where you can enjoy stretches of unspoiled land. I go there often to recharge.

This is an interesting article from The Atlantic on the prevalence and popularity of older music and the dearth of new pop music.

Ha! No surprise. But I would not blame only older music. To me the problem started during the George Bush the younger time (I think) when they allowed the corporations to buy up all the radio stations. Then the same music and artists were played everywhere and all the time with a few corporate types in charge. And if you were not a favorite, you were basically shut out no matter who wanted to hear you. I'm happy for their success but don't keep telling me that Taylor, Billie, Ariana, Beiber, LNX, Post Malone, The Jonas Brothers and various rappers are the only ones that anyone wants to hear. And when they get all the radio play they get on all the huge streaming lists and award noms as well. I know a lot of people think Adele is boring but I'm always so happy when she can knock some of these others off the charts when she releases something new every 5 years or so, lol.
I still listen to a lot or radio but a station that plays a lot of older, and some new music, from multiple genres including rock and alt. At least there is a variety of music and not the same artists all the time. I stopped listening to my favorite HAC station years ago when it was such an ordeal waiting for them to play something from Adam. He was getting radio play then but only when his song was starting to slide down the charts would they play him for a few weeks. Even when he got a little radio play for Superpower, I didn't bother with that station as I knew it was a lost cause. And I don't expect he will be going for any radio play when he releases something new.

Right on Lurleen. The other point to make is that radio of most genre's is forever chasing that very young demographic and assume that everone else is not worth worrying about...and I suppose you generally have we boomers to trace that phenomenon to The funny thing is that the younger demo is starting to see the light and realize that this "group writing" that is dominates the landscape in pop is, by definition, all going to sound the same. Add autotune etc and you have a recipe for just what is happening now....ho hum....

It would be interesting to hear Adam in private talking with his management, label people, fellow performers, etc., about all these issues. He is aware of the situation and so is every other artist. The music business has never been "fair." It rewards the music that sells. And currently, music sells in multiple ways.
