you may be right; my gold star is labeled "Favorites" and under that is favorites, feed and history. ETA: I've clicked on everything on my toolbar and bookmarks doesn't come up anywhere. Thanks for all the suggestions; I'll work on this some more tomorrow; gotta get some stuff done before hubby gets home. Chrome UsersDo you have the wrench on the very far right hand side? I'm new to Chrome and it took me awhile too. Click on the wrench, go to Options. In the Basic tab look in the Toolbar section. Click the box that says "always show the bookmarks bar". To add a page to the bar grab the location by it's head (ie the little logo usually to the left of http) and drop it on the bar. (or click the star on the right and select bookmark bar as the folder Too many to fit? Right click on the bar and add a folder. You can then stuff the folder with bookmarks. IE UsersFor those using IE, there are actually 2 places it shows bookmarks. It has a favorite bar folder inside the regular bookmark dropdown from the menu. Items in the bar show up if the bar is enabled and items you add to the bar (instead of to other folders in your bookmarks) will show down the right side under the ">>" marks. To get the Favorites Bar to show up Right click just to the right of the word "help" in your menu bar. Put a check mark in front of "Favorites Bar". I have IE; can I PM you tomorrow? Thanks!

I HAVE FIGURED OUT THE BIRTHDAYS ----- I THINK. BUT I NEED YOUR HELP.There is a calendar link at the top of the page. Each day has a link to a birthday list. The birthday associated with your Member ID is the birthday you registered with and the one on your profile. If you hide your age, your birthday will be hidden from members. (I can still see it.) I have a fix in the works.....but I want to make sure that I fix the right thing. SO IF YOUR BIRTHDAY IS NOT ON THE CALENDAR, AND YOU DID NOT HIDE YOUR AGE, can you send me a PM? THANKS! I'm confused. Are you saying we must "unhide" our age to be listed on the birthday calendar, or are you saying you have figured out how to put us on the calendar without revealing our age?

This is absolutely fascinating, Juniemoon! I never realized there was such a substructure involved and that is where a lot of the big bucks go for promo. I'm all ears if you want to share more. Also in no way was I trying to make light of your post by calling 'indies' lobbyists..it was the first image I saw..just like government. Excellent posts, thanks! Oh, I know, viv! I researched this topic for my own knowledge back in September. I am by no means an expert, just a fan trying to learn. I was curious to find out why some songs get heavy radio play while others get played seldom or never. What I found out was a lot like the time I found out what liverwurst really was. Never did dig on the ‘wurst quite so much after I knew the truth. First some background. Some of you who are music history buffs or are a little bit older may know about the “payola” scandals that nearly derailed rock and roll music in its early days. Simply put, a 1960 Congressional investigation found that some of the most famous early rock deejays and hosts, including Alan Freed, Murray the K, and Dick Clark, had accepted large cash payments in order to play certain songs on their shows. The FCC put in strict laws that prohibited such practices in the future … Or did they? The article I posted earlier by George Howard, the former president of an independent label that was acquired by Warner, documents the way that a song is chosen to be played on your local radio station, and you may be surprised (or not) to learn that it isn’t by pondering what songs their listeners might like or by responding to listener requests. Those factors may get a record a spin or two at 2:30 a.m. when no one is listening, or on a special "By Request" show, but they aren’t going to push the song up into even light rotation, let alone the kind of play that characterizes a major hit. These days, the process of creating a real radio hit starts with a sales representative called an “independent promoter.” Technically a free agent, the “indie” is actually paid by the record label to represent its tunes to various radio stations. If a record label is behind a song in a big way, this individual has lots of cash to spread around. The favored radio stations get all kinds of money that they can use to buy bumper stickers, pay for promotions, and other expenses of operating and promoting their business. The more cash that changes hands, the more a song is played. Record labels may budget as much as a million dollars or more to promote a top single this way. These practices are no secret in the industry, and in spite of efforts to curb or regulate them, they continue to thrive. Absolutely fascinating..the mechanical cogs behind the music industry. We are mighty fans, indeed, but seems that 'independent promoters' have astounding money power behind them. Guess that trip to Bali is off, Seoulmate..sorry bout it..

newsroom.mtv.com/2012/01/04/12-things-that-give-me-hope-for-2012-5-1/?xrs=share_twitter4. New music from Season 8 “American Idol” finalists! Kris Allen and Adam Lambert – the top two from what I consider to be the most entertaining “Idol” season ever – both have new albums out this year. So far, we’ve only heard runner-up Lambert’s lead single, "Better Than I Know Myself." It has an infectious chorus and a radio friendly OneRepublic vibe. It’s a good start, but I’m even more excited for the full-length, Trespassing, which Lambert promises will be a darker, more electronic affair with co-writes and production assists from Pharrell Williams, Nile Rogers and Bruno Mars, amongst others. You know you already have March 20 on your glittery calendar.

Dude these prof writers r smoking crack. So far BTIKM has been compared to WWFM, called pop rock, compared to One Republic...no. Just...no. The thumping drumbeat could be kinda Tedder esque but if anything it leans more Justin Timberlake more than anything it's been compared to so far. Kind of a fail guys.

Oops, don't know why the quote thingy didn't work.. ??? Psst: It didn't work because you have an "end quote" at both the beginning and the end of the quote. Go back to the first quote and take out the forward slash in front of the word "quote" and that will fix it. Your quote should always begin with [ quote ] and end with [ /quote ] (without the spaces).
