How can I tell if 107.7 radio played BTIKM yet here in St. Louis besides having to listen to that station? :-/ Someone posted a link to the mediabase playlist for KLLC some time back, and I bookmarked it for future reference since KLLC is my local station. There is one for your station too I'm sure, but I don't know how to access it. Maybe whoever posted the original list would know? I've forgotten who posted originally though.. sorry. :-/

I HAVE FIGURED OUT THE BIRTHDAYS ----- I THINK. BUT I NEED YOUR HELP.There is a calendar link at the top of the page. Each day has a link to a birthday list. The birthday associated with your Member ID is the birthday you registered with and the one on your profile. If you hide your age, your birthday will be hidden from members. (I can still see it.) I have a fix in the works.....but I want to make sure that I fix the right thing. SO IF YOUR BIRTHDAY IS NOT ON THE CALENDAR, AND YOU DID NOT HIDE YOUR AGE, can you send me a PM? THANKS! I'm confused. Are you saying we must "unhide" our age to be listed on the birthday calendar, or are you saying you have figured out how to put us on the calendar without revealing our age? I am not sure yet. I am trying to find a way to allow people to hide their ages and still be on the calendar. But I want to be sure that there is not any other problem. So I am still seek an example of anyone who has unhidden their age and whose birthday cannot be seen. I can see both open and hidden birthdays.

So, please help me on this, Q3..
You state RCA does not use indie reps for pay for play.
Yet in your second paragraph you state that part of the promo budget is used for indie promoters..is there a difference between pay for play and the present function of an indie promoter?
Not being contrary..just confused..
Thanks! ;D

Here are the adds and spins for BTIKM including KLLC addboard.mediabase.com/SongAddHistory.asp?Sngcde=LAMBBTIK&ob=1&format=XX There is a free site where people monitor airplay of all songs. The name escapes me now.

So, please help me on this, Q3..You state RCA does not use indie promoters for pay for play. Yet in your second paragraph you state that part of the promo budget is used for indie promoters..is there a difference between pay for play and the present function of an indie promoter? Not being contrary..just confused.. Thanks! ;D Sorry --- indie promoters still exist, just the way they do business has changed. In brief --- Under U.S. law, 47 U.S.C. § 317, a radio station can play a specific song in exchange for money, but this must be disclosed on the air as being sponsored airtime, and that play of the song should not be counted as a "regular airplay". The station pays no royalty. The airplay does not count on the Billboard charts. No one does this. For a number of years, the major labels got around the law by Sony just handed the money to a indie promoter who in turn gave part of the money to a radio station to play a song. This was indirect pay-for-play and determined to be illegal. Sony, UMG and the others paid fines and agreed to stop doing this. No they do it one more step removed. So a promotor gets some money and buys space on a station's website and the song just gets played. [wink] Or, Katy Perry shows up at a Jingle Ball and spend $300K on set and transportation and etc., the station pays her a nominal amount (less than her costs), and the station sells the tickets. [wink -- ka-ching] They close one loophole and 5 more are invented. So, yes, radio promo is expensive but no, there is not pay-for-pay in the way that there was before 2005.
