BIRTHDAY UPDATE
If you want to be sure that your birthday appears to everyone on the calendar and on the home page footer on your birthday, you will need to unhide your age.
I have two possible solutions.....
Option 1: 24 hours or so before your birthday, unhide your age. Then when your birthday is over, hid it again. (Thanks Houselady for the clever idea.)
Option 2: I can see all of the birthdays. I will post a list of birthdays in the page 1 news each day. This will mean that everyone's birthday will be listed BUT NOT YOUR AGE or year of birth.
I make no promises about birthday cakes! And will leave that to other members to take care of.

So, please help me on this, Q3..You state RCA does not use indie promoters for pay for play. Yet in your second paragraph you state that part of the promo budget is used for indie promoters..is there a difference between pay for play and the present function of an indie promoter? Not being contrary..just confused.. Thanks! ;D Sorry --- indie promoters still exist, just the way they do business has changed. In brief --- Under U.S. law, 47 U.S.C. § 317, a radio station can play a specific song in exchange for money, but this must be disclosed on the air as being sponsored airtime, and that play of the song should not be counted as a "regular airplay". The station pays no royalty. The airplay does not count on the Billboard charts. No one does this. For a number of years, the major labels got around the law by Sony just handed the money to a indie promoter who in turn gave part of the money to a radio station to play a song. This was indirect pay-for-play and determined to be illegal. Sony, UMG and the others paid fines and agreed to stop doing this. No they do it one more step removed. So a promotor gets some money and buys space on a station's website and the song just gets played. [wink] Or, Katy Perry shows up at a Jingle Ball and spend $300K on set and transportation and etc., the station pays her a nominal amount (less than her costs), and the station sells the tickets. [wink -- ka-ching] They close one loophole and 5 more are invented. So, yes, radio promo is expensive but no, there is not pay-for-pay in the way that there was before 2005. Thanks, Q3..loopholes..gotta love 'em. I did see the promo budget very differently when you broke it down to how much one radio station might receive. I never could understand why it cost so much to launch a single. That was very helpful..

Someone posted a link to the mediabase playlist for KLLC some time back, and I bookmarked it for future reference since KLLC is my local station. There is one for your station too I'm sure, but I don't know how to access it. Maybe whoever posted the original list would know? I've forgotten who posted originally though.. sorry. :-/ Mediabase will only give you airplay for songs that have been added by a station. Here are the adds and spins for BTIKM including KLLC addboard.mediabase.com/SongAddHistory.asp?Sngcde=LAMBBTIK&ob=1&format=XX There is a free site where people monitor airplay of all songs. The name escapes me now. Do you mean yes.com?

Neil Patrick Harris And David Burtka Last week, when we posted our list of the 30 cutest non-Robsten couples of 2011, a number of you spoke up for a write-in couple (which, with Russell and Katy over, we definitely have an opening there): Adam Lambert and his boyfriend of one year (and partner in crime), Finnish reality-TV vet Sauli Koskinen. But we can’t make things THAT easy for you, Glambert fans. We thought we’d stir the pot a little more and bring the Weekly Hotness poll back from its winter hiatus. So we present to you this special couples’ edition, pitting Adam and Sauli against that other perennially adorable example of true love: Neil Patrick Harris and fiance David Burtka. On the one hand, Adam, 29, and Sauli, 26, are undeniably gorgeous, and they look good together too. Plus their shared background in reality TV must have made for good conversation when they first hooked up.

I remember when I shuffled Adam's first album around so that it would be conspicuous at FYE music store. I noticed that in the front of the store there were new videos displayed with numbers on them.. Like #1 etc. So I asked how a Cd got a number one or two, etc. The sales help said the promotors paid a sum to have the CDs numbered so they appeared to be # 1 seller ,etc. I was floored to think that was a paid for promo gimmick .
I still think our requesting Adam's songs is helpful,no matter what..It does show the power of his fans.

Warning! I need to RANT. Stardust - I got a Google Alert earlier today with this very article & IT MADE ME SO FUCKING ANGRY. So Adam's single is not selling? And you had to point that out to us? Well DUH. It's had NO PROMO. RCA just threw it out there with no support. What do they expect??? Fuckity fuck fuck. >:( >:( >:( Reading through today's thread I see that this LACK OF PROMO issue is kinda on everyone else's mind too. Am I the only one who's really ANGRY about this? I know RCA has got major promo planned because they've got too much money invested in Adam to NOT support him. And I'm really trying to see the "big picture" here. I know absolutely nothing about the marketing/promo game but it seems to me that the longer they let BTIKM just hang out there, the more opportunity it gives the media to rag on Adam's sales. We all know the single is doing really well WITHOUT ANY PROMO, & I'm just hoping that once RCA finally gets off their butt & helps us out a little bit here that the single will totally blow up & be a huge hit. I'm just frustrated with all the waiting because it's been so long since Adam's had new music that he NEEDS to be back out there showing everyone what a kick-ass singer he is. And speaking strictly from a selfish perspective, I WANT INTERVIEWS. I WANT ADAM TALKING. NOW. I just needed to get this off my chest. I don't usually get this intense but it's just FRUSTRATING! ARRRGGHHHH!!! It's enough to give a person an eye infection. Ok rant over. I'll calm down now. Thanks for listening. ;D

I HAVE FIGURED OUT THE BIRTHDAYS ----- I THINK. BUT I NEED YOUR HELP.There is a calendar link at the top of the page. Each day has a link to a birthday list. The birthday associated with your Member ID is the birthday you registered with and the one on your profile. If you hide your age, your birthday will be hidden from members. (I can still see it.) I have a fix in the works.....but I want to make sure that I fix the right thing. SO IF YOUR BIRTHDAY IS NOT ON THE CALENDAR, AND YOU DID NOT HIDE YOUR AGE, can you send me a PM? THANKS! Q3 - My birthday is on the correct date, BUT when I checked for my name, I noticed your name was missing. Come out and play with the rest of us. Most of us already know, so you might as well share with the rest.

Momtomany posted this Queen Documentary video in yesterday's thread and I thought I'd put it here again if anyone missed it. It is a really excellent video on Queen and Freddie. It's long but well worth the watching!

How can I tell if 107.7 radio played BTIKM yet here in St. Louis besides having to listen to that station? :-/ What are the call letters?
