OMG, JUST GIVE ME A METAMUCIL. HOW CAN ANYBODY EAT AND DRINK THAT STUFF. Umm  well I've been drinking green smoothies for over a month now and it can be very yummy (mine are 60% fruit / 40% leafy greens) and it has totally done away with my sugar and caffeine cravings which is a small miracle!  - Do you make them yourself? What do you put in them? I just don't know what to say about this stuff. I'm a huge fan of Jamba Juice & I know it can give you tons of energy & it even TASTES good. But this crap that Adam & Sauli drink sounds like some evil concoction brewed up by the Wicked Witch of the West Coast. Bleh! :  |

You can see spins for a song at stations that haven't added but the button that says "show stations that haven't added" doesn't always appear. You have to go thru the list of adds themselves usually, find the song, click on the song name itself, then on the button to show the non-added stations. You can toggle back and forth. It's weird though that doing it this way only shows you the adds for this week and not prior ones. So to get the full picture you have to pull it 3 different ways. |

See if this makes you all feel better. For WWFM the first 3 weeks of sales totalled 31,000. If BTIKM sold 39,000 it's first week (yes, I believe the leak from Rene), it was already past 3 weeks of sales of WWFM! AMAZING for a song that has not even been performed yet!! WWFM is almost 2X Platinum and its first week of sales was 11,000! It's radio play that drives sales of Pop songs and the same thing will happen with BTIKM. Don't worry! Be happy! What we really need is that graphic from Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. You know the one that says DON'T PANIC! There is really, really, really no need to be worried right now. Here is my take. When we missed the Nov window didn't they originally say that we would get the single in January and the album within Q1? Then with all the press the EMA performance got AND all the BFM bullshit it was an opportunity to take advantage of some press momentum to get the name of the single and album out there. But here's the thing. It would not have been possible to redo the entire promo plan that they had been working toward for probably late January. But releasing the song for sale before Christmas does make sense both as a present to fans and to continue to build buzz. Releasing it for radio play at the same time also makes sense even knowing there was little likely hood of much play during the holiday. Many songs are released both for sale and radio play long before their radio impact dates. Sure some heavey hitters set impact dates within a few days or week or so from release. But sometimes that is why you have songs which shoot up a chart but then plummet just as quickly. We know this is a song which gets better on repeat listening so this gives the stations a chance to spin the song a bit to test the waters. Our request are important for our local stations so that they see the song get a positive response. Just so everyone knows IIHY had been announced as a single and started getting a few adds before an impact date was ever announced and when they did set one it was more than a month off from when it was announced I believe RCAEd confirmed that they were timing the radio push with release of the video and by that time the song had made it into to the top 50 I believe on the basis of small stations adding and playing the song. If Adam is filming the video in the next week or so they may be hoping to have it ready about the time that the real promo starts. Adam has a track record of videos positively impacting sales. If the "real promo" is lined up for late Jan early Feb this will probably all tie in together very well. |

Melliemom & MyS*&@^#r - I'm sure you're right. I honestly don't remember what the promotion was like for WWFM, so we may well be in the same pattern & this is just normal procedure. I just got a little defensive over that article. And after all was said & done, WWFM was a HUGE hit. I still hear it played on the radio here. I use the term "radio" loosely - I live in a small town of 9,000 rednecks & we actually have a radio station here called The Mix 97.3. I think their staff consists of one guy. Maybe if I buy him a KFC bucket of fried chicken he might play BTIKM. ??? OR MAYBE HE'D PREFER CHICK-FILA, the no-way gay chicken preferred by rednecks everywhere? j/k,j/k ...still laughing... ;D |
