Pretty much, this. I'm feeling you, Ginger!! It IS bewildering. And hey, if they're doing a "social media experiment," FINE. But, could you let us in on it instead of expecting us to be the dancing bears without letting us hear the tune? I mean, today with all this Claude rally/shout-out confusion, I thought, "Man, I miss Ed." :-/ Even though I never went to AO, his posts got passed around enough that we had SOMEONE – SOMEONE who could answer our issues of confusion. He might have been a pain and less than tactful at times, but I usually felt he was straight and gave answers about what they wanted/needed/expected from us. We're flying blind here and trying to keep enthusiasm alive, but when we feel like we're doing all the heavy lifting with NO whisperings of any promo appearances, it's like ... what's going on??? With WWFM, Adam was never off TV. He was on the Early Show, Ellen, Conan, Leno and Letterman in November/December – right when and after WWFM was released. If they need us to hit the shit out of radio and make requests, fine, but are we going to then hear: You're spamming!! A LITTLE insight would go miles. And I would be ridiculously happy if there was an Ed still around to give us some clue about what was in the works. Even if it was a patronizing, "Tut-tut, it's all coming together very soon. Now go on yer merry way and request yer brains out – but don't piss anyone off ..." In other news, I'm kind of craving green slop right now ... Heavy lifting???come on I love pushing Adam to the top..' he's not heavy he's my brother'LOL I think we know what to do and do it very well. Weren't we just tapping our fingers and tapping our feet waiting to do something.. well the time is now.. so let's go Adamtopia man those phones,man those radio stations. At least we're no longer bored As far as Ed ,It's always great when we miss somebody after they are gone. Ed drove most of us crazy and a lot of his clues ,etc. we're pretty worthless. We've got this ! Yes, heavy lifting. At this point, fan interaction is the primary strategy being employed (with the exception of some banner ads). I didn't say I minded; I don't mind at all. But just wanted some insight if that was part of the plan. Like I said, I will hit the shit out of any radio station necessary, if I know that is what they want and need. At this point, we can only guess their intentions/plan and what they need from us. I wasn't around AO enough to like/dislike Ed, but from the posts I was linked to, he usually responded to confusion. |

You guys... I don't understand all this bit about no promo. I think the right people have been working this song behind the scenes. The song is getting adds and spins before the impact date, so that tells me someone is doing something right. As far as external promo that the "little people" (us, the audience) hear, I honestly think interviews and TV would be far more beneficial once the stations are fully spinning the song. He needs the sales not now, but closer to impact date and album release. I'd rather he burn through all those radio interviews and TV shows opportunities closer to his album release time. He'll be able to cement his presence in people's minds better for album sales, rather blow promo on a simple single sale.

When the single was suddenly announced, just before the holidays, when supposedly 'nobody' releases a single, my first thought was: Perhaps Adam and Co. are doing this to combat the BFM crowd, who were capitalizing on fact that his real album wasn't going to be released for 3+ months. Those cretins were hoping that newbies would buy their album since they had nothing 'new' from AFL to buy. So BTIKM is released, and it's amaaaaazing, and people are talking about it, and I'm thinking (hoping) it may have seriously cut into BFM Holiday sales receipts. ;D But I know nothing about the business so it could just be wishful thinking on my part. |
