Just one more prom thing. One of my college friends was from a very small rural town. At their small high school, everyone just went to the prom whether they had a date or not. It was a "whole school dance." She said it was fine because everyone understood how it was. Nobody felt weird without a date. A few kids did have dates, too. And everyone dressed up, too. Sounds like common sense to me.
Nice to see Adam speak publicly in support of Ukraine and urging allies to help them.

I also went to the prom with a guy who was a "buddy." We had an ok time. Sometimes, I think the parents (esp. the mothers) want their sons and daughters to go to the prom more than kids actually do. It's kind of a rite of passage thing, I guess. Adam and Lauren look lovely. I wonder how common it is now for same-sex couples to go to the prom? Depends on where the school is, I'm sure. My mom made me go to the first dance in junior high - must have been right after school. I sat in the bleachers and read a book - really putting my all into it right? That was the one and only. Didn't ever get my kid to a dance either although his friends with girlfriends went. I enjoyed college dances at the small one I went to (dorm living & drop in whenever you wanted) but have no idea what the university I finished up at offered since I didn't live on campus for it.

I'm late, but after all those sad prom stories, I have to say I had a wonderful prom. My Mom made my long formal dress, I went with my boyfriend, and we had a party with friends in the basement of his home. For some reason, the goal was to stay up all night which we did, but was I ever tired the next day! We all missed the after prom picnic as a result.
