Today’s thread title makes me wonder: When did the UK leave Europe? Never. The European leg of the tour started in Belfast last month, whatever some British people may call it. 😁 You are absolutely right, of course….…. Made me think why I always say ‘U.K. and Europe’. I think we Brits have been brought up on the idea of ‘Continental Europe’, to which we don’t belong! When I was young, we went on holidays to ‘the Continent’ (anywhere in Continental Europe - not U.K.) I had a ‘Continental Europe Rail Pass’ as a student (for use in Europe but not the U.K). it’s just a clarification for a lot of us to still say the U.K. and Europe. Like if QAL announced a new European Tour I’d be anxious to know if it was the U.K. as well Just found this on Wikipedia which says it better….or perhaps it just makes more clear why we Brits sometimes need to clarify. Continental Europe or mainland Europe is the contiguous continent of Europe, excluding its surrounding islands. It can also be referred to ambiguously as the European continent, – which can conversely mean the whole of Europe – and, by some, simply as the Continent.
But I am very pro- European and in these times, we have to stick together! When I lived in Alaska, we called every other state in the union (except Hawaii which was just vacationland) 'The Lower 48'. So there's that.

I'm thinking Adam would be well served by staying somewhere in EU permanently, as we are going back to the dark middle ages fast. On my way to the arena today I just heard the news from the US about abortion. The next sentence had been that Germany had decided today, that doctors are allowed to inform about abortion and advertise their possible services online, which they hadn’t been before. 2 countries - both highest courts and very different decisions. IT's an absolute mindfck!!! I don't even know what to say...
