It has been so long since I’ve been on here that I cannot figure out to so the quote I’m replying to, but I’m a few days after the hospital with my second bout of Covid, and this one got quite serious. On the bright side, I do like sleeping with an oxygen tank. I guess it not only counters the pneumonia but also the high elevation!
Almost every QAL Tour since 2016, I have gotten heartburn because Brian has said something like “who knows if we’ll get to pass this way again” and I would also feel some of the joy leave me. I know they are obviously not getting younger, but they have always said they want to tour as long as it is fun, and they can do it well. I hope Adam doesn’t leave them in the lurch because he has always, in every interview but the last one, been clear that he would be there as long as Brian and Roger are. When asked in this recent interview had he thought about had he thought about how much longer he wanted to be with Queen, he just said, “No.”. One of the two things he said is true. Logically speaking, both cannot be unless he changed his mind over a relatively narrow window of time.
I wonder if there is a simple and common reason why Adam gained weight, and if someone already posted this, please forgive. Many studies show that when a couple moves in together, they gain weight during the first year in particular. I did. My husband didn’t, but I have friends who have both gained weight in their early marriage. Since up to fairly recently, Adam and Oliver had a more typical home arrangement, it is that Adam gained weight. Oliver, of course, is in his mid-twenties, is small boned, and has a fast metabolism. He doesn’t seem to mind Adam’s size; it would be disadvantageous if he did push Adam to lose weight anyway.
I tend to be on here more regularly during tours. Thanks to all who post, bring over things etc… To whomever else said their recent Covid bout almost got them, feel better!

phronni7 . So sorry to hear about your battles with Covid. How frightening! Glad you have made it through….and an oxygen tent is meant to be very good for facial lines so you are probably looking amazing! It was probably me who said that I felt covid almost finished me off. Wasn’t nearly as serious as you experienced but was surprisingly poorly for over three weeks. If anyone else tells me it’s just a bad cold again I will scream. Saw first two shows at the O2 and three days later tested positive. Gave my tickets to three later shows to friends and family - and most of them got covid as well. Definitely from the concerts and have heard of a great many others in same boat. The 02 must have been seething with virus and now we have no restrictions at all - are even encouraged to get on with normal life even if we know we have covid. Madness. No idea how the band and crew don’t get it…they must be being super careful. Fingers crossed for them - and for you, that you continue to grow stronger.

Logically speaking, both cannot be unless he changed his mind over a relatively narrow window of time. I'm glad you're out of the hospital and doing better after your Covid battle! I should probably go back and review exactly how that question and answer was worded, but on the face of it, I'm not seeing any inconsistency in Adam's response. In the present case, I took it to mean he hasn't thought about putting a time limit on his time with Queen - he takes it for granted that he'll be there as long as Brian and Roger want to tour so there's no point in even thinking about it. Maybe his response was worded a bit differently because the question was worded a bit differently as well. I will say, however, that maybe sometimes QAL will have to be scheduled around Adam's availability, as opposed to him just jumping whenever Brian and Roger want to schedule a tour. It's important for Adam to continue growing his solo career as well, because inevitably QAL won't last forever and I'm sure he doesn't want to sink into instant irrelevance as soon as Brian and Roger call it quits.

@phronni SophieB Sorry to hear about your Covid experiences. cleopatra Yup, I think Adam will always be available for QAL shows. I think he loves to sing those songs, he likes the camaraderie, and it pays really well! I wouldn't be surprised if the money from QAL lets him do the things he wants to do in his solo career.
