www.newsday.com/entertainment/music/hot-song-adam-lambert-s-new-single-1.3433569Hot song: Adam Lambert's new single Published: January 6, 2012 2:43 PM By GLENN GAMBOA glenn.gamboa@newsday.com Is Adam Lambert trying to send out secret messages through his singles? His new single, "Better Than I Know Myself" (19/RCA), sounds like a Celine Dion ballad filtered through Ryan Tedder and Bruno Mars. In other words, it doesn't sound like Lambert, but perhaps what record company moguls would like him to sound like. Hopefully Lambert gets to shake off the blandness on the rest of the forthcoming "Trespassing" album. That's my newspaper, gelly. Glenn Gamboa is an asshole. JMO, but anything he rates high, I hate and whatever he rates low, I like. Ignore the dickhead. ETA: Sorry for the rant, but that just really pissed me off. The good thing is, Tuesdays are the only day where his stupid comments are in the printed paper. I doubt he'll put that in print since he has plenty of new music to rip apart every Tuesday. Wait a minute, you have to be a paying subscriber to access the Newsday site. How'd you find it?

That's what I love about in this site! People loving the same thing, discussing about the things, bout different points of view but still respecting the points of view of others. Really good gift! Peace and love! That's what we need!

So excited about Ray Kay! LOOOVVVE the FYE video! It brought me to fandom <3
I think given Adam tweeting about the recent Jessie J and Rihanna videos (and 90s fashion) that Chunkey's concept for BTIKM sounds very plausible. And Ray Kay made him look so good before, I can't wait to see it.
BTW I can think of many recent examples of artist's using their significant others in videos - Pink - so what, Britney - Criminal, Adam Levine - every video, Jennifer Lopez, Seal, etc. etc. I agree though that it can be a can of worms.
I like the Pressparty interview because it's one of the few examples of Adam answering written questions by email (at least I think that's how it was done). The wording is in his written voice, which is a little more formal and srs bznss than his spoken one, but also allows him to edit and carefully formulate what he wants to say.
ETA: oh, and for those two recent polls where Adam is just barely ahead (vs. Matt Kearney and Kelly). I think you have to clear your cookies to vote more than once. I don't think that there is a cooling off period.

Actually, I think this is totally indicative of people's reactions to BTIKM. The review they write on first listen seems to be completely different than what they experience after a few or repeated listens. And Adam nailed it in his assessment of Dr. Luke in the Press Party interview. On first listen, I think people have a certain expectation in their head's and they experience a "disconnect," with what they were expecting and what it is and they have a hard time reconciling it at first. However, it takes a few listens before you really detect the nuance and then on repeated listens, you hear more and more and really begin to grasp how complex the song is. "Dr. Luke has the special sauce. He has this unmatched gift for ear candy. He's the reason why you can hear a song on the radio a zillion times and hear something new in it each time, and yet you can hum the hook after the first listen." Yep!!

Maybe he should listen more than once to get the layers, the chorus, the sophisticated vocals, the harmonies..Drive by listen sounds like to me. He missed why this song is so incredible and why Adam's voice is beyond incredible.. Bland ,I think not.Put your listening ears on Mr. Gamboa.

And he is obvious a very skilled writer too! Each paragraph is perfectly structured. The boy is a smartie!
