Those numbers have not EVER changed. They've been the same for at least 3 or 4 days, and that's more than a little odd. It is the vote for last week's song from One Republic. |

I really think we are underestimating Avril to assume that she would never win this poll unless it were really 'ALL' about Adam...and his haters. Avril has been an internationally popular young person's star for 10 years...she is huge in Japan and the rest of Asia particularly...has 3 X the twitter fans Adam has....has sold millions of albums.....yadayadayada. I do not like her music but it is hubris to make every poll about Adam or Adam haters...and may be a bit of why we tend to anger some other star's fans. Ah, but you're looking at this logically, and IMO that's a mistake. These polls aren't logical at all. By your reasoning, neither Adam nor Avril would be in the final round. Lady Gaga and Justin Bieber would not have been knocked out in Round 1. Adam would have never gotten past Katy Perry. And David Archuleta would have never won that Q102 "Sexiest Man" poll. I mean, seriously? Given that result, I'm shocked that Jordin Sparks was able to beat Archie in this poll. But it brings up my point...Idol Fans Are Trained To Vote. AI alums always do well in the VH1 video countdown for the same reason. And AI resentments die hard. Plus, as has been alluded to, it isn't just rabid KA stans who hate Adam - it's also rabid Cook stans. And rabid Durbin stans. And the list probably goes on. It would not surprise me at all if there is a very significant anti-Adam vote in addition to the pro-Avril vote accounting for this result, particularly since I didn't think her most recent era was a huge success (although I don't follow her and could be wrong about that). LOOOL, riiight?? You nailed it, bocababe!! Also, yaay for everyone who nailed the Houston Sleepwalker question. BTW, I just realized while hunting around my iTunes on TV, that I had Adam's Idol Journey saved somewhere (didn't know that, I always thought I had to watch on computer). And so I watched it. The resolution wasn't great, but man, the ride was!! I enjoyed performances I didn't go over the moon for before (One, No Boundaries), but I have to admit, I garnered a whole new love for his finale hair (I know, I've lamented about this in the past... I LOVE that hair) But seriously, I think I figured it out. When he wears a hat, his lips become the focus. But when he had short hair, his teeth, nose and facial structure became the focus. ZOMG!! He looks so insanely gorgeous during the finale and right after. I've come to the conclusion that each of his parts are so awesome that they upstage the other. So, he must now reveal himself in sections... it's too difficult to process all of his beauty at any one time. LOL.  |

Slapdash, That is so true. And particularly so for the Idol performances. Back in the day, once those vids became available, I watched them over and over and over and over. Every little nuance of PTFM, MW, ROF, etc. etc. Such fun! I am so hoping that the upcoming tour will reap as many memories! Me too! Lately, everything reminds me of chasing following GNT around the country. Can't freakin wait. So many of my friends who've gone to one or two GNT concerts with me don't quite understand my desire to go to 10 or 12 concerts. 8-) They really like Adam but they don't necessarily see, like we do, that every single performance of the same song is unique and has something new to offer each time. We who have fallen down the rabbit hole get it! |

For some reason which doesn't make logical sense at all to me, but probably psychologists could explain, a poll or voting opportunity grows in importance in fandom not relative to the actual tangible reward but to the adversity the voters experience.
There is no reward for this one, except for the radio station which now has more clicks which translate into advertising revenue for that month. There was no reward for the last one that pitted us against Archie, but it distracted fandom from other contests with concrete tangible rewards like the takeover at that time and the Do Something Awards.
All I see this poll leading to is assumptions of unfairness on the part of the radio station (and tweets to them about this from normally level-headed fans), fan warring with Avril fans, conspiracy theories, and possible burn out of some fans who sometimes make the frustrated leap to assuming every radio station voting opportunity is just click bait and pass on relevant ones going forward.
sigh....
If only I could convince myself that every jingleball power voter had done their once a week or more requesting from their local radio stations I'd feel better about. Maybe they have? Who knows.

We just have to accept that we are out of our minds and everything about Adam and our fandom is illogical. I have no love or respect for these stupid polls............... shhhhh, but I still vote because the thought of Adam losing ANYTHING is intolerable. With that thought in mind, night all. The 4 hours sleep I got last night is making my eyes glaze over, or maybe it's old age!! |
