Thanks so much for the comments about my essay today. You guys are awesome!!!!  Re the "belt buckle" debate, as much as I enjoy Adam's err, 'package'... I do love the WHOLE package. I find that usually when Adam is being most OTT sexy onstage, he's also got an awesome cheeky expression that shows just how funny/silly he thinks it all is. I love that, and so I love to see it all. On the other hand, people who take vids are kinda like music video directors. They shoot their vision, and it may or may not be to everyone's taste. Good thing Adam is vidded by so many different people so it's easy to find a perspective that works for you. I have to say, though, for all Adam being one of the sexiest guys ever (imo), sometimes I feel like I'm stanning a Victorian maiden. With his penchant for layers, it's so exciting to get a glimpse of skin or a peek at his pretty ankle! ;D IA and I think wonderstruck's point about K Perry's boobs is a good one too. I was watching the original Idol's tour vid posted and was completely enchanted by his performance, especially in his face and arms, and got annoyed with the frequent crotch zoom because of everything it was cutting out, including his slinky hips in some super close shots. It was akin to the flaily arm woman for me, and I want to look up a vid from the same performance without that particular editing choice not because of what is left in, but because of what is cut out of the frame. I find Adam's biceps lovely and obsession worthy, but a vid just focusing on one of them would annoy me too because it ignores the movable feast that is the way he uses his whole body and face when he performs. Usually there are many vids to choose from of the same performance, so not a problem. |

And you're right again. It is a good example of the GB. I put one part of the JC interview parts (Part 8) with Adam on Photobucket. I'm trying to do the other parts now. |

Quick history lesson: back in the day in America there were "blue laws". Which meant something was forbidden by the law. Stores did not used to be open on Sunday, for example, because of blue laws. Then, there were comedians and others who engaged in profanity, which was illegal at one time, so they were said to use "blue" or forbidden language--referred to as a blue performance--kind of like the x- movie rating. Then, since many of the forbidden words were sexual in nature, "blue" morphed into a shorthand word for overtly sexual. Hope that helps non-native speakers who shame me every day by being here because I only know a smattering of foreign language-- not enough to enjoy sharing a fan site in YOUR languages. |
