This is OT: With all the stress and anger about which restroom Trans students are allowed to use, why can't the schools just create another restroom/locker room that anyone can use? If parents are so upset, I'm sure the funds can be raised. I just fear for the emotional health of these students to always be in the middle of some fight over bathroom use. There are so many other issues for them to deal with so it seems easy to take this one off the table. But they don't want to take this one off the table. It makes for an effective R talking point, and gets people riled up. And I doubt that the majority of parents give a second thought to this manufactured "issue". There always has to be a boogie man, a manufactured crisis for these people, and trans people are it for the moment.

I am not much of a country music person but I have always found Shania Twain interesting and more edgy than most country artists.
Looking forward in her joining on Star Struck.
Here are a couple of her videos I always liked.
So That Don't Impress Me Much
Man! I Feel Like A Woman
Here is one singing live.
You"re Still The One

Don't know that much about Shania, just a couple of her more popular songs from years ago, but I do think she's loads more interesting that Carrie. Like Adamrocks said, a lot more edgy.
I'm betting she and Adam will get along just fine.

Problems with that solution are: Distance from where the student is (see the movie Hidden Figures), identification of the student as tran because they are the student that uses the designated bathroom (leads to bullying), isolation of student because can't enter bathroom with friends and must wait in the hall(do women go to the bathroom together for protection or because they like to chat)

They are winning. And forcing a trans girl to use the boys bathroom could lead to bullying too. Most in school would know who is who anyway so I don't think it can be hidden in most cases. They know, otherwise what would be the problem or why the uproar? An alternative would be to have a bathroom or two designated as gender neutral. It is not perfect but going to the bathroom with friends may not be an expectation or option for trans kids in this climate. But if you have friends and you are not isolated, they may choose to use the gender neutral bathroom too.

It is not perfect but going to the bathroom with friends may not be an expectation or option for trans kids in this climate. But if you have friends and you are not isolated, they may choose to use the gender neutral bathroom too. Forcing a 16 yr old trans girl (long hair, bra, plays on the girls teams, been a girl since she was 12) to use the boys bathroom puts her in danger from boys. It's like letting the black boy use the white boys bathroom in a segregated society. Most students in school should not know whether someone is trans or not if they are a transfer student - that is privileged private information and would put the administration in jeopardy other than in those state where gender-identity is not treated as a protected class. There are some trans-kids who stay with their school because their friend group has accepted them and been with them thru whichever transition step they are on. For parents who are concerned that their girls are going to be raped by a trans girl or horror, a straight guy pretending to be a trans girl, the gender neutral bathroom doesn't provide any protection because then you really are mixing all the sexual orientations together. I think sports & locker rooms are a lot harder nut to crack but regular bathrooms should be easy.
