6 NEW ADAM LAMBERT TRACKS!
I’ve just come out of an exclusive Adam Lambert listening session in Los Angeles and can reveal track titles & details on not 1, not 2…but SIX brand new Adam Lambert tracks from his forthcoming new album “Trespassing” in-stores March 20th.
A HUGE thanks to Adam & his team [JoAnn & Leah] for giving me the opportunity to listen to some ROUGH mixes of the tracks. This stuff is so hot it’s not even finished! The guys are ok with me sharing some info with you, so here goes!
1 ] TRESPASSING: The title track [written by Adam & Pharrell Williams] is BANGIN! Really feelin that “We Will Rock You” inspired opening rhythm, the bass lines got an “Another One Bites The Dust” feel to it and there’s a really cool guitar hook. Best line has gotta be “Wait till ya get a load of me”. There’s a breakdown part near the end just straight Adam vox and drums..no bass. Sick.
2] COOKOO: Ollie Gee, Bonnie McGee & Adam co wrote this. Bonnie’s previous credits include several Katy Perry hits. Cookoo is another one for the hit list! Wont give too much away on this one! Wait till ya hear it! Definitely a party jam.
3] BROKEN ENGLISH: An anthemic, slower tempo track co written with Adam by Lester Mendez [Enrique, Shakira, Nelly Furtado, Dido]. A beautiful love song which might just possibly be autobiographical. “I know you will understand I gotta tell you somehow”. Like say you had a partner whose 1st language wasnt English….you might encounter this situation! Quite haunting in parts & some fat beats ..an amazing song.
4] UNDERNEATH: Another track from Adam’s “darker side” and definitely one of the stand outs. Its stripped back basically to piano and vocals & REALLY lets Adams vocal shine…at least in the rough mix I was played. You got to remember these tracks are SO new they aren’t even finished yet!
5] KICKIN IN: Damn it got this white boy movin! [don’t worry I won’t show you my moves] Written by Pharrell, its a club banger and for mine…a HIT! “She puts the shot glass down, she asks for another round, girl don’t u hit the ground, is it kickin in”. Funky shit.
6] CHOKEHOLD: Adam didn’t play me the song but went out of his way to tell me about it at lunch. He’s really excited for people to hear it when it’s ready. Says it’s got a 90′s Depeche Mode feel to it…I say bring it on!

This is a great interview that is worth a listen. The whole thing is a highlight IMO but here are a few great bits:
• “I’m so excited to be releasing this new music.”
• Music video doesn’t have a release date. It will be released very soon within the next couple of weeks (That will be before the Pop Impact date.) “It going to surprise people because it is a bit of a twist on the obvious themes of the song.”
• He loves Montreal and the people and the freedom.
• “I think I’m already booked in Europe on my birthday” – “I don’t know where exactly I will be” – “probably singing.”
• “I think it’s true what they say that when you turn 30 a lot of things become clear and start to click and I’m kind of feeling like that’s going to happen.”
• On Trespassing (album): “It’s a really cool idea because what it does is that it’s two halves of one whole. And one half of the album is exploring the light side and the other half is the dark. And on the light side… the songs I got to write are influenced by funk and discos and 90’s house music. And great bass lines and great beats. Umm very vocally driven. The spirit of rock and roll alive and well on a groove. And it’s talking about things like falling in love and liberation and partying and just being who you are. And on the flip side, the dark side of the album is exploring such themes as loss and heartbreak and vulnerability and adversity. And we created songs with dub step and industrial sounds. You know 90’s electronica, rock sounds.”
• He talks about the collaboration with Pharrell Williams and describes a song he cowrote with Pharrell, which appears to be “Trespassing” but he did not use the title of the song.
• He described his fans as “amazing”.
• On the Finland Incident: “The good news “Sauli and I laughed it off”.... “A very immature drunken messy moment”... He and Sauli are getting healthy now! “We as couple decided to change our lifestyle a bit.” Adam said he takes his position as a role model seriously and taking responsibility for his actions. “You’ve got to learn from mistakes.”

Adam Lambert may be hard at work prepping for the release of his new album but he still has to find time to eat. Adam and his cutie boyfriend Sauli Koskinen were all smiles as they were photographer leaving Hollywood dining hot spot, Katsuya, last night (January 11) in Hollywood, California.
Free time is going to become harder to come by for the pop singer soon. Adam is gearing up for a busy promotional schedule that will include performances of his super hot new single, Better Than I Know Myself, on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and Ellen. A video for the single has also been shot.
