Great news for the LGBT Community in Cuba. I have been waiting to see the outcome of the vote. Was happy that the president of Cuba was in support but afraid because the evangelicals were against. I think it was a good thing that American evangelicals could not get in the country and muck things up. Now come on US congress and get with the program. Cuba approves same-sex marriage in unusual referendumHAVANA -- Cubans have approved a sweeping "family law” code that would allow same-sex couples to marry and adopt as well as redefining rights for children and grandparents, officials said Monday, though opposition in the national referendum was unusually strong on the Communist Party-governed island. The measure — which contains more than 400 articles — was approved by 66.9% to 33.1%, the president of the National Electoral Council, Alina Balseiro Gutiérrez, told official news media, though returns from a few places remained to be counted. The reforms had met unusually strong open resistance from the growing evangelical movement in Cuba — and many other Cubans — despite an extensive government campaign in favor of the measure, including thousands of informative meetings across the country and extensive media coverage backing it. The code would allow surrogate pregnancies, broader rights for grandparents in regard to grandchildren, protection of the elderly and measures against gender violence. President Miguel Díaz-Canel, who has promoted the law acknowledged questions about the measure as he voted on Sunday. On Monday, he celebrated approval of the measure, tweeting “Love is now the law.” Passage “is to pay a debt to various generation of Cubans whose domestic plans had been waiting years for this law," he added. “As of today, we will be a better nation.” abcnews.go.com/International/wireStory/cuba-approves-sex-marriage-unusual-referndum-90521967

Yay for Cuba, and I hope their new reform is a bit more secure than ours. Ours always seem to be under constant attack.

Since it is slow, I thought some may enjoy seeing this vintage Queen performance someone sent me. It was their only time appearing on Saturday Night Live and their last performance in the US with Freddie. From Sept. 1982. Freddie was having throat problems, so they adapted this version of song.

That's a new event PI posted, correct? Or have we seen that one before? I don't recall seeing anything about it.

That's a new event PI posted, correct? Or have we seen that one before? I don't recall seeing anything about it. Sure seems to be…announcements in the UK press. Well, keeps pay checks coming in and his face in the media…(in the UK…lol) I was surprised that when Shania Twain was being announced as a judge on Starstruck….and was hitting the media re her release of a song/ album, there was NO mention of Starstruck judging. Her Vegas residency was in the press release of her album. Perhaps because it does not impact on her North American fan base…but still…thought good publicity was good publicity.

Publicity seems to be a very complicated thing...I suppose that's why it's an entire career for somebody who is good at all the ins and outs.
Seems very puzzling and not always entirely sensible for somebody on the outside looking in, ie me lol.
