Great to hear that Adam is part of that UK Christmas special! Adam is riding high in the UK right now. Every special gig is another feather in his cap. Should be a fun special.

Im rewatching Adam season on American idol. So young lol. I recall the time he was in the bottom 2. Was nearly eliminated. Weird to think. How different his career could of been. Would of never sung on the finalie with queen. So guess his trajectory could of been very different.

I'm guessing singing with a major rock band probably wasn't on his mind when he auditioned for Idol. Not to be too philosophical, but it's always interesting to see the paths your life have taken when you get to a certain age. Of course, Adam is still only 40, but I bet his life and career right now don't necessarily resemble his hopes and dreams at say 18 or 20. |

Adam said he thought he was going to end up on Broadway if he ever had enough confidence to move to NY. He said he hoped Idol would give him a better chance at a Broadway career so he wanted to stay on as long a possible. My guess is being a multi-millionaire and Grammy nominee with gold and platinum in multiple countries and headlining a world tour by age 30 was not expected, lol. And the little thing called Queen frontman and playing arenas and stadiums worldwide was likely not on the radar either. HA!

Sometimes I have to kick myself a bit when I get frustrated at Adam's struggle with his solo music. In the pop world, it's the solo music that is the major thing. Sure, some hugely successful singers are career "cover singers" and aren't involved in the Top 40 race, like Buble, etc. But in the pop/rock world, it's an artist's solo music that has the most cred. Adam has huge success with the things he has done. And while his solo music has not been the dominant factor, it sure would be great if he got some major charting solo songs in his future. That would add to his validation in a big way. When that happens, everyone, both inside and outside the fandom, recognizes that particular success. JMO Love Secretary of Transportation Pete! Interesting to see him in that early cllp. I hope he stays active in politics. |
