I think Adam is going through another transition artistically. Turning 40 can be a big deal and don’t forget that he just went through the pandemic. He’s an artist and we all know he loves to be creative in how he looks. I can’t wait to hear the music he’s working on. I suspect he has come to realize that trying to "tone it down" for fans and TPTB by reserving really playing with makeup to very specialized situations and/or with good friends, has generally just not paid off in a meaningful way! He even promoted one album [Tresspassing] wearing almost no makeup a lot of the time...but that did not garner him any more radio time or substantial numbers of new fans. Queen...complete with over the top make-up and costumes...did far more to further his career than trying to look more "natural". He has finally figured that all out I suspect....and good for him. As good old Shakespear put it: "To thine own self be true, and it must follow as night the day, that thou cans't not then be false to any man". Just be your own best version of yourself...in the end, you really just have to live, love and be happy with yourself. I am so excited to be seeing him at the Wheatland / Sacramento show! |
