Go read last nite's thread. The release of her album can strongly influence, where Adam's album reaches on the Billboard. We want him outside the Idol bubble and that means playing with the Big Boys (and Girls). We can't pick and choose who he competes against- that reads a little "Special Olympics" to me. I understand that there is an element of neener neener involved and that #1 debut bragging rights would be way cool but total sales over the long haul mean far more to me. And with the way labels change release dates and delays crop up out of nowhere means worrying about it is useless. IMO :D Generally, I agree that chart positions do not matter that much -- except for two charts..... 1. Billboard Hot 100: #1 song, Top 10 song (Adam has one) and Top 40 song matter. >> This chart is still the standard for song popularity.2. Billboard 200 (album sales): #1 album really matters. >> This sales chart is the standard for financial success since albums are the financial engine of the music business.I want to read #1 album by Adam Lambert. More importantly, I want his album in the top slot in retail stores across the US and with the reorder boost that goes to a #1 album and with the press and with the.... Yes, having the #1 album in the US matters. If also matters when it comes to how the singles associated with the album are treated by radio PDs. FYE would have nabbed #1 if it had been released on most other weeks in 2009. IF Adam and Madonna release in the same week, she will almost certainly take the #1 spot. So I want him to have a clear week. I secretly want him outsell Madonna on the first week and have the #1 album release of the year, but I am realistic that that will be hard. I think he has a very good shot of outselling Madonna. >> In the end, it all will depend on how good Trespassing is and if Adam can find a larger market with T vs. FYE.

Does anyone know what the sales numbers are for FYE. Have they increased and how close to 1M in the US? We haven't gotten sales numbers since the end of November when RCAEd reported 829,000 for the US total. He said at that point it was selling less than 500 a week. If there have been any sales boosts they haven't been big enough to show up on the catalog charts. The bottom of the catalog albums charts has been in the 1500-2000 range. I doubt we will get numbers unless there is a spike due to his promo for BTIKM. When Trespassing drops hopefully it will stimulate sales for FYE as well and he might finally hit platinum.

Yesterday I posted about 20on20 (Satellite XM3) spinning BTIKM. Yesterday the station had spun 10 times. Look at today's spins: 21 spins! I heard it twice yesterday (and WWFM once) on this station while I was out and about. Let's show this station some love! I saw your post and switched from Hits1 to 20on20, but unfortunately heard no Adam. I did hear Diddy (ugh), a dirge from Christina Perri ("A Thousand Years", which I do not like nearly as much as "Jar of Hearts"), and various rhythmic-oriented songs I neither know nor like. I'm confused as to why Hits1 - also Top 40 - hasn't played BTIKM if it's getting so many spins on 20on20. I'm hoping against hope that Hits1 will start to play it, because I'm already dying to switch back! But in the meantime, I'm still on a quest to hear Adam on my car radio, so I guess 20on20 it shall be for now. ;D

Cassie - I found Adamtopia very soon after falling in love with Adam. At that time I thought that only young girls can be fans of a pop/rocksinger. After lurking here some time I noticed that at least most of you are not any teenagers. It was a happy feeling to realize that I'm not abnormal in that respect.

YAY!!! I heard BTIKM on my German radio station (N-Joy, it's a station for young people for the whole North of Germany!) a few hours ago! Finally! It was played in a program where you can request songs and they played it because three people wanted to hear it! Now that I know the station finally received BTIKM, I will request it there from time to time, too!!! ;D Hope they will also add it to their "normal" program soon!!! :

Are you being sarcastic, or are you honestly questioning this? On another note... I'm kind of getting irritated with all these come back artists. If they were interested in music, why have they not stayed active putting music out. Are they interested in a music career or do they just want to pad their retirement and have gotten tired of being forgotten? This applies to quite a few returning artists. I guess you are referring to Madonna as a come-back artist? Someone (Q3?) yesterday gave us some sales numbers for her last few albums. She has been recording all along. Here is her discography from Wikipedia. Maybe I'm not understanding your comment. Madonna (1983) Like a Virgin (1984) True Blue (1986) Like a Prayer (1989) Erotica (1992) Bedtime Stories (1994) Ray of Light (1998) Music (2000) American Life (2003) Confessions on a Dance Floor (2005) Hard Candy (2008) M.D.N.A. (2012) Artists have always been doing come-backs. I remember Neil Sedaka's come back when I was a kid. I didn't know that he was popular in the 50's. Elvis did it. Yeah.. I don't generally care for come back artists in POP.. only because there is so much change that happens on a constant basis. Hard Candy was 4 years ago & wasn't that good despite sales... She had 2 songs that charted in the US (according to Wiki) . One peaked at 3 (which featured J. Timberlake) and the other at 57. Also the gal is in her 50's. Age alone is a zero issue.. if you are living and breathing the pop environment and have connection to the sounds that are coming out right now. I doubt I am explaining myself correctly. I'm not singling her out, I feel the same way about JLo. HAC and AC artists can take a break because by its very nature the music look both backwards and forwards. Its not cutting edge or even meant to be. I guess it all doesn't matter. Her target audience in my opinion is probably the 35+ age group. Not that she doesn't have young fans, but the bulk of the album buying crowd are not.

Can't wait to hear Adam sing this! blueberry Im with you I cant wait to hear him sing this either it brings tears to my eyes!!!!! On the video it says its not him singing does anyone know who it is then???? I think it's a demo singer who does a nice job. I can't WAIT to hear Adam sing this. OOOMMMGGG, you guys!! Jan. 15 – we should be within two months. I imagine we'll get songs streamed in the week before release!! Lana del Ray situation?? Yikes!! I saw one video and though her beautiful and video very well done and visually compelling. She looked confident and relaxed. Wow, this was painfully awkward. It was like a 6-year-old doing her first solo at a grammar school assembly. Her left arm was possessed. Whatever forces were employed to get her this gig before her first album was released (something various articles have said only a handful of artists have ever had happen during the history of SNL) need to reevaluate. She has a machine behind her (Interscope) and people have been wondering where she came from and why is the world suddenly determined to make her happen? (She's also on the cover of Billboard this month.) She does not appear to be ready for all of this. I am believing we will see Adam on SNL after album drop. Grammy blogger @arjanwrites was talking about it on Twitter last night and said he thinks it's a no-brainer. I agree. I like Madonna, but am a little over her now. I'm sure she'll open big, but yeah, would love if she's not the SAME week as Adam. Loved hearing everyone's Rabbit Hole stories!! Q3, many people have been reporting sudden influxes of FYE and GNL appearing at their stores this week. Do you think it's a push by RCA to prime the pump and perhaps push him to Platinum status by the time "Trespassing" drops?

Does anyone know what the sales numbers are for FYE. Have they increased and how close to 1M in the US? No -- it is still around 830K. Last numbers I believe we had from Brian Mansfield are: Adam Lambert, For Your Entertainment (less than 1,000/829,000) Link: content.usatoday.com/communities/idolchatter/post/2011/11/daughtrys-129000-sales-spells-a-top-ten-debut/1The good news is that FYE is still in mass merchants in the US and will be there when Trespassing is released. New album releases often list the artist's catalog sales. >> Yes, the increase in FYE and GNL stocking is because of the expect increase in interest in Adam music due to new singles and new album.
