I'm just happy we don't have to wait until his own music comes out "soon" lol. This will be a great diversion, and it looks like we already have some appearances coming up.  I'm excited...I'm easy lol.  ETA: Forgot to add, he looks scrumptious. Haven't watched the interview yet, so this is purely on a shallow note  |

I agree with @brynn, not the same situation. RCA wanted Adam to do a covers album after they failed to promote/support his second album at the early stage of his career. Had to be a big disappointment for him. Now he is releasing a covers album before his own music is finished. Kelly Clarkson recently released a covers album/EP but she is working on new music. Carrie Underwood released a covers album of gospel music (2021)and won a Grammy with it in Gospel/Roots. She released a new music album in 2022. They were both established names before doing it. Adam is a big enough name with great accomplishments and net worth now to do whatever he feels is best. A smart move to release this now while he works on his new music and projects. Who knows, maybe he will have several projects for consideration for the next awards season. Hey, it works for everyone else, lol.
Exciting and something to look forward to soon with a "rock star backbone"!

Many of my favorite artists sing songs they did not write. Are they "covers"? I guess. To me, they are songs that passed the test of time. Songs that have stood out from the quickly forgotten hits of the week.
Take a song that has proven its appeal over the years and pair it with a voice of a generation, and you have a winning, memorable combination. Looking forward to it!

Like Lurleene posted, several artists are doing this, putting out a covers album before their new music hits. I had 2 posts this week on Facebook from artists announcing their new covers album. |

Yep, this is definitely a good strategy for him. He has assured us that original music is coming in due time, and this covers album sounds like a hand-picked collection of songs that mean something to him. He is a MASTER at doing covers. This album should be very fun. And meanwhile, more new solo music, Fairyland, "the musical," a possible QAL tour, his judging jobs (including Clash of the Cover Bands, which I hope is back again), are all in the works. Sounds like a very busy 2023. Glad that Mad About the Boy is on the album, too.
And he somehow makes that shorts outfit look very classy.

Squee, love the happy photo. Happy photo and happy day! Just came here as soon as I heard about the new cover album. How exciting! Adam is just about to ruin some original song versions for me as I’m sure I’ll love his interpretation much more, haha! Totally agree! I usually like Adam's versions better.  This is going to be fun. I hope I like the songs he has chosen. |

Diddnt his old label rca want him to do a covers album? Irony. Looking forward to it though. Adam the goat at making other peoples songs his own.
