Eber is hilarious. I hope Adam's nose is ok after getting a bit cut from those "glass" shards falling while doing the shoot for the album cover. Yes! In all the frenzy about Ordinary World, don't forget to give Mad About the Boy some more spins when you can! Great ot hear Shosh say that there will be promo events here in the US for High Drama! The more Adam the better!

The internationally acclaimed singer is one of the biggest queers in the music business, always good for a surprise and above all a great artist. In February 2023 his new album "High Drama" will be released and it will bring together all the singer's favorite songs. For example "I Can't Stand the Rain", which became a worldwide hit through Eruption in 1978 (originally by Ann Peebles), "Holding Out for a Hero" by Bonnie Tyler and also "Mad About the Boy" by Dina Washington. This classic will also be heard in the 2023 film "Mad About the Boy — The Noel Coward Story" about the life of Noël Coward (gay actor, writer and composer, 1899 – 1973), which opens in cinemas. We were able to listen to the album today and are really impressed. Adam Lambert manages to give the songs his very own touch. They're not just covers, they're reinterpretations that breathe new life into the compositions. "Ordinary World" by Duran Duran, for example, one of the band's last chart hits in 1992, has never sounded better. Adam Lambert manages to translate the whole lyrical depth into music, his voice is simply more soulful than that of Duran-Duran singer Simon Le Bon. About Adam Lambert: The singer, who was born on January 29, 1982, had his debut "For Your Entertainment" in 2009, although he did not win on the talent show "American Idol 2009". Adam's second album "Trespassing" in 2012 was even the first album by an "official gay artist" to reach number 1 on the American Billboard charts - LGBTIQ* visibility and success at the same time, that's rare. And things continued to climb steeply with Adam Lambert: Adam was on tour with Queen and keeps hitting the charts with hits like "Ghost Town". In 2018 he delighted Diva Cher with his version of her biggest hit "Believe".

Showing as Top 5 on the iTopChart which shows the iTunes Charts Top 100 songs US - so cool. itopchart.com/us/en/top-songs/ I wish it was easier to capture a pic of it since it will change. So discussion. Has he ever had anything this high for so long?

Loving the exposure for Adam. I know we are always happy with the love that Adam receives in the UK (and we should be). He has a tv show there so it is only natural that many other opportunities will come his way. But when he has something to promote or a new album he gets many opportunities in the US (other than radio, lol). I thought when he went indie, the US tv shows would ignore him as they did other Idols when they went indie. I was so pleased that never happened. He had plenty of promo lined up here for "Velvet" and only Covid stood in the way. My guess is when it is album release time for "High Drama", we will see him make other tv shows for promotion like he has with his previous albums. It seems that Carrie, Kelly and Adam are the few former Idols who get a lot of tv exposure at album release time. Most of the others are pretty much missing in action when they have new releases.
It is a shame that Adam will no longer have Ellen in his corner. She gave him a lot of exposure. I know there were a lot of people trying to take her off the air because she was not nice enough or as she appeared on tv. Was that really a surprise tho? Most of them are probably different than they appear. But the complaints against her being a bit mean or others on her team making bad decisions seemed overblown and not enough to end her show. In the age of social media, you don't have to file a formal complaint or go to the police with issues, you only have to post your charge. But ending a show like Ellen doesn't just hurt her. It hurts ALL the other employees, and takes away their main source of steady income and they are not as rich and secure as she. So it should be based on provable egregious changes before you make that move. Even that young man Greyson Chance that she signed to her label was blasting her. Someone like Ellen was unlikely to have a record label that could make you a star. Her label did not have that kind of proven record. And trying to launch the career of a kid/gay male was going to be challenging even if he had been on a major label. But she had Greyson perform on her show many times but she could not make him a star tho talented. Ellen tried. Sometimes it is just not going to happen as many Idol winners and their fans discovered.

I agree with everything you said lureene. Ellen brought a lot of joy and laughter to many people for many years before she had to end her show. Why are our memories so short? She supported many performers over the years by bringing them on her show. As far as trying to make a star of someone, there are just so many different factors involved including some good luck. I am thrilled she was so supportive of Adam. It helped him a lot. And 10 years after Idol Adam imo, is gaining longevity. Because of his hard work, his incredible technique and that VOICE! The fact that he is such a supportive and kind person doesn’t hurt either. I am so excited about his new album even though they are covers. He will transform those songs! And I’m hoping that maybe this will give him his second Grammy nod.
