Ok little review for my sake since it's hard to keep track....how many tracks do we think will be on the album (not counting any bonus) versus what we know already? We have: BTIKM Trespassing Shady Cuckoo Underneath OOL Chokehold Broken English And then in the "we know about but not sure" category we have: Never Close our Eyes--the Bruno collab And one of the articles mentioned some song that's not finished yet that will "blow our minds" Did I miss any? wonder what happened to that benny blanco "dude!!!! we made a hit!!!" song. I was feeling all flaily over that, but no one's mentioned it lately. :-/ OMG, forgot about that one! Benny was so *psyched* about it too!.

Feelings.
Many people latched on to Adam during Idol and were crushed when he lost. Some of them hung around and some of them flitteded off as is normal at the end of the season. Many who stayed went to the Idol Tour and became even more invested in Adam
Then came the AMAs. Some of those who were still part of Adam's fan base could not deal with unbridled Adam and departed. Those who remained became even more committed to Adam, his attitude, and his success. These fans watched as Adam kept it together through so many interviews, some good some horrendous, and their pride in him as an artist and the character he showed in dealing with adversity expanded tenfold.
When the GNT started the fanatics, and I use that term with the utmost reverence) attended as many shows as they could and watched every video from the show they could find. We watched as more and more people and countries jumped on the Adam bandwagon and became very vocal about their love as well as vocal about any unfair treatment he was forced to endure in the press or by religious fanatics. It was a great time to be an Adam fan.
After the tour was over and Adam went into self-imposed seclusion, we suffered, whined, begged for new music. Yes we had red carpets and other events but we wanted more Adam music. It took a very long time but again his avid fans accepted that Adam would be Adam and share his artistry with us when he felt it was ready.
Now we are reaping our reward for the dedication and patience we have exhibited. BETTER THAN I KNOW MYSELF is beautiful and seems to be well received. TRESPASSING is being universally praised and anticipated. There is not sign of a diminishing need for all things Adam, interviews, performances, and pictures. He has voiced his appreciation for his fans and it feels good to know that he understands we are a small part of his success. None of us want to sound like BSC fans, but when someone like Ryan trivializes Adam's accomplishments instead of promoting them, I feel we are justified and perhaps required to make ourselves heard.
I guess I just want to say that we have waited a long time for Adam to reach this next step in his career and it is wonderful to be able to sit back with those of like mind and soak it all in.

I was feeling all flaily over that, but no one's mentioned it lately. :-/ I wonder if it's still in contention, but in that "where does it fit?" Purgatory that Bruno's collab and possibly Rico Love's, Nikka's, etc. are. Seeing as though they were mentioned in the press release, but we still don't have confirmation. (Rico wasn't mentioned in the press release though, IIRC.) Sooooo much stuff!!! Regarding Ryan (ugh!) the longer version on his website wasn't nearly as bad as what aired on KIIS, but I hope he tears the person who edited it a new one. To edit out the reason for doing the promo is ridiculously unprofessional. Like what? You're calling in to talk about your album that drops in two months and a bunch of stuff you DON'T want to talk about?? Okay. ??? ??? : The edit was ludicrous and Ryan was the one who came off the worst (although older Glamberts certainly did not emerge unscathed either :-/...). Adam, as always, was unflappable and gracious and didn't allow himself to be baited into saying anything derogatory about anyone. Love Professor Glampants, or as we rename him for the new era: Professor TresPants. I do think his new look is part strategy (broader appeal) and part "been-there, done-that." He was quite adamant in one of the SF interviews that he was pretty much over spikes and studs right now. Will that last? Who knows, but he seems to be over it for the moment. I think he looks STUNNING right now, so though I enjoyed the heck out of those days, I'm more than happy to revel in the ridiculous beauty that is him right now.

I can't see BTIKM moving into the Pop Top 20 in the US, maybe in Canada.
But I do think that the strategy makes sense. Adam clearly is positioning himself to reach a broader audience. He needs to get on music buyers consideration set. I love Adam, but as a marketer, I am not a fan of the FYE album cover. Sure it got press but it is off putting to many people -- including most men I know -- gay and straight. Not to rehash but the combo of the FYE album cover + glam rock/pop + the S&M retro dance pop lead single (FYE) + the AMAs + the makeup and style + the FYE Tour Style = Adam has a very very loyal niche fanbase. The one song that really broke thru for Adam was WWFM -- a mid-tempo ballad that was broadly acceptable. Now he has learned a lot. He has the opportunity to become really big and appears to be going for it. So he needs to reposition, build broad credibility as a musician-singer-songwriter. And repositioning an artist are the same as any brand --- you need to have a clear destination and articulate the brand vision and mission. - Define the category you are in. - Define the position you want. - Build the message to communicate the message. BTIKM is the perfect song to position Adam as a mainstream pop artist. My guess is still that BTIKM will do OK on radio, and the next single will be a big radio hit. ETA: I wish Adam would be nerdy more often. And I would love to have him tutor the Idol judges about vocal terms -- like "pitchy"!! Q3...how high did WWFM get on the pop charts? You don't think BTIKM is as good a song as WWFM?? :( I think it's better. Sorry for the lag in responding and my opinion on this is not worth much. (I still "foolishly" love FYE" so my personal opinion does not matter that much.) I think WWFM (album version) is a better pop radio track than BTIKM -- because WWFM is a better song and WWFM has superior production. That said -- Adam is currently the best I have ever heard him and his live performances of BTIKM are spectacular. I am almost certain that there are tracks we have not heard from TRES that are great. This can't just be hype. And based solely on buzz and rumor -- Trespassing is amazing -- and there are 3 other tracks that people have heard that are also great. And there are a few tracks on the album that will be very big. The private chatter about OOL is very strong and this recording appears to have captured something special. A beautiful album track I am told. So much rumor, so much buzz. I want the album NOW!!! ETA: WWFM hit #13 on Pop Radio airplay chart but lived forever on radio = modest peak position but long, long life = ton of airplay. Peak position is only part of the story.

I am wondering more and more if they led with BTIKM so that it would be an inoffensive, US radio friendly, easily performable re-introduction to Adam and that they are really gonna start to push hard when they drop the supposedly massive Cuckoo right before album drop and then blitz the shit out of it??? I mean I am sure they would want BTIKM to be a hit, but maybe that's not super important to them because they know they have an arsenal of AMAZING songs waiting to go and that's what the reviewers who mentioned *soft opening* and *RCA must be really confident in the material to lead with this song* are going on about? Just thinking.... ITA. In this launch RCA will want everything go right, hence the slow build-up. So, they launch BTIKM, which has some flashbacks to WWFM, was well received in radio and was a solid hit. In my opinion, BKTIM is designed to re-introduce Adam (to the radio) and make the transition from ERA1 to ERA2 to go smoothly. Make sure that after this hit, Adam will get auto adds. (Or is it still too early for that?) Judging by the reviews we saw from radio stations, there are at least 4 singles in the album that are better than the first one. (And that's only half of the album they heard.) So RCA have every right to be confident. I believe, this album will be BIG for Adam. As it should be. With multiple radio hits, also in the UK and other markets that are not on board yet. Oh this is the perfect expression --- "So, they launch BTIKM, which has some flashbacks to WWFM" I bow in homage -- so well said and so exactly right. RCA (and any major label) will almost always release a new single that is just like the last big hit. <visualize the bowing smilie here>

adamlambert Adam Lambert ...not to b rude - but it's so often used to describe my voice but I hardly ever use my falsetto. Jus' sayin' Favorite Retweet Reply cassie.. so this means that he always sings using his chest voice instead of his head voice. Hmmm. I didn't read it that way. I don't think he is using the term "falsetto" as a synonym for head voice. I think he is saying that when he sings those big, high glory notes, those are in chest voice ---- and I agree (tho I hear a lot of ping from his head resonance as well. He says he doesn't blend the two much, but, I hear it). I still maintain that in Soaked, for example, when he goes for that high sustained note before the big break, that is not belting, it is head voice. And the lilting voice of OOL is not belting either at the top.... except for the last chorus. And the last NeeeEEEEEED in TOMT is not a belt either. I definitely hear head voice. None of those examples sound like true falsetto to me which i much thinner. What I think Adam is trying to correct is calling his rock wails "falsetto." Nothing could be further from the truth. IMO
