LOVE this post, Winks!!! And yes, I totally agree that in the scope of Adam's career it won't matter at all, but the entire discussion is indicative of how he is a lightning rod. No matter what happens. What he says or does, it somehow invites discussion of broad, complex, reaching issues and I can pretty much bet it will continue far past when this album comes out. This kind of thing is one of the elements that make me so sure he is a game-changing artist – because he fosters debate and challenges convention when he's not even trying. He and Sauli are happily sitting at home juicing and watching TV becoming a "boring couple," and yet ... the very social undercurrent of our society ends up being analyzed. Yipes! I can only imagine what we're in store for when these songs are released, when he IS trying to be evocative, push buttons and lay it all down ... Fasten yer seatbelts ... this ride is just getting started!!! So true Susie! And it's just part of what makes stanning Adam Lambert such an amazing experience. I wouldn't have it any other way. :D The lightening, the pushing buttons, the isms that prompt such great thought provoking discussions and the best ride I've ever been on. I'm strapped in and ready to rock and roll!

The RS comments made me remember comments I used to hear at the beginning of the GNT, even by people like Slezak. Some tried to paint the middle aged female audience as such a bad thing that I almost felt guilty showing up as part of that group at his concerts, lol. There was a lot of discussion back then about young people attending, how many attended and if the audience was "diverse." I know these things are pragmatically important for fan base growth, but the conversations all over the place on various boards and in the media gave me pause and often made me think. I love the way Adam has never gone along with any attempts to mock his older fans as some of the other idols have done. I respect the way he doesn't step on anyone's back to try to be cool. He has said he knows he gets some eye rolls still, the same kind that RS was symbolically throwing out this morning about older fans, even in the intro to the clip. Blinders up. One thing I enjoy about middle age me is that I've gained enough wisdom as a woman to be my own advocate and not let the views or voices of others smash me down or sound louder to me in my own ears than my own much more legitimate views, lol. I think Adam has learned this as well. We are protective of him, but he is respectfully protective of us as well. Synergy. I wear my middle age comfortably, and I take it and my middle age wallet wherever they want to go, to an Adam Lambert concert or to the clubs where my son plays, or to the zoo with my two year old grandson. Fortunately, most of the smiles I encounter in the world are genuine and real and exchanged with people across all brackets of the great age divide, lol. And with that, Elvis has left the building. ETA: and the thread is dead and the new thread already up and running.

LOL - when we were watching the BTIKM performance on Ellen I asked my DH "who is making that loud fast rat-a-tat sound?". DH couldn't hear it since his ears are damaged from years of being a rock musician, but now you've answered my question, thank you! After I watched the Ellen performance about 100 10 times, I started watching Isaac. He is beating the crap out of those drums! I was thinking this song has to either be a lot of fun for him to play or it has to be exhausting! I can definitely hear some backing track, but to my untrained ears, it sounds like less of a backing track than most of the Glam Nation tour songs had. Dead thread I'm just trying to catch up, but mys*&@^#r I sooo agree with you! I watched Isaac after watching the performance so many times and he is AMAZING! I was so impressed! :D
