twitter.com/Daily_Express/status/1619698436806156288Brian May's praise for Adam Lambert ‘I swear there's no voice to match his amazing pipes!’ Brian May believes no one "in Christendom" can match Adam Lambert's voice, while Queen fans responded by saying Freddie Mercury would be looking down approvingly. It’s been over a decade since American Idol finalist Adam Lambert started performing with Queen as their sensational singing collaborator. The star, who turns 41 today, has always been adamant that he’s not trying to mimic or replace Freddie Mercury. Instead, he feels he simply helps celebrate the late Queen frontman’s legacy with Sir Brian May and Roger Taylor. And according to the guitarist, he’s certainly worthy enough to take on such iconic vocals on the likes of Bohemian Rhapsody and We Will Rock You. During Queen and Adam Lambert’s London O2 residency last summer, Sir Brian praised the singer’s incredible vocals, saying: “Here’s our boy ! In crackin’ form last night. I swear there isn’t a voice in Christendom to match those amazing pipes ! It’s a real privilege to work with …. The One and Only … Madam Lambert !!! Bri.” At the time fans approvingly commented: “Freddie is looking down on him and smiling that amazing smile of his!” and “Nobody can replace Freddie, but Adam comes pretty damn close. Amazing voice.” More.. www.express.co.uk/entertainment/music/1727767/Brian-May-Queen-Adam-Lambert-voice

That Blick interview was great, but I have to disagree with Adam about this:
Performing may be the only thing he wanted to do with his life, for which we should all be grateful, but it absolutely isn't the case that he's "good at nothing but performing." With his intelligence (both intellectual and emotional), personality and natural charisma, he could have done any number of things, had he been interested in doing so. As he's shown as a reality show mentor and judge, he'd have been an awesome teacher or corporate trainer (he was offered a $50k per year corporate trainer role by the makeup company he worked for - can't remember which one it was - which was a lot of money for an early-20s person back then, or even today). Or a great salesman (again, as proven by his stint doing and selling makeup), or Director of Development for a charity. If he'd had an interest in law, he would have been a great trial attorney. Maybe a designer, whether fashion or interior. Or an event planner. The list is endless. He's one of those people who would have found success no matter what career he chose, I genuinely believe that. He has that special spark.
Looks like he's having a wonderful birthday, which he richly deserves!
I can't say I love The View, but I'm delighted to see some U.S. promo starting to crop up. I can't help but suspect he mentioned wanting to duet with Kelly Clarkson because he knew he was booked for that show as well, and that they were going to do a song. I hope that comes to pass - it's way past time for the two of them to sing together, and I think they'd get a great press cycle out of it if it happened.
