WE HAD A LISTEN TO IT THIS WEEK...

We were a bit dubious before we listened to Adam Lambert's upcoming album, Trespassing.

His last album was good, but we didn't think it was great. His single, Better Than I Know Myself (below) is a very good pop song, but we'd heard all sorts of hype and hoo-hah about the few tracks from Trespassing Adam's publicist is showcasing, and were prepared to be a bit let down.

WELL WE WERE BIG FAT WRONG. Unless the tracks we haven't heard yet all turn out to be cack, this album is set to be an absolute pop corker.

Adam Lambert album ¡Trespassing¢: Exclusive Preview



We were lucky enough to have a FIRST LISTEN to the new Adam Lambert album 'Trespassing' yesterday. Set for release on March 19, the five songs we sampled left us tapping our toes under our desks, bopping at our computers and holding back gracing the office with an entire set of dance moves.


Here's what we thought in a nutshell:

The one you'll want to party to: Cuckoo
Co-written by Bonnie McKee (of Katy Perry and Britney songwriting fame) this electro-pop track has a catchy chorus, strong rhythm and makes you want to get up and dance. We had to hold ourselves back from busting into some serious moves at the desk. Perfect for a Friday night.

The one that sounds like Queen: Trespassing
Adam performed with Queen at the MTV EMAs in Belfast last year and this track, co-produced with Pharrell Williams, has got the influence of the legendary band written all over. In some of the heavy clapping parts you'd be mistaken for thinking for a second you were listening to 'We Will Rock You'. It has a heavy, distinct beat and really got under our skin.

The sexy one: Shady
Full of cool beats, heavy breathing and a slower tempo this tune, which features Sam Sparro and Nile Rogers takes a rather different turn to the previous two. Lyrics like "take me underground" and "get my kicks" complete the sultry, dark feeling.

Both PopJustice and EQ Music Blog were treated to an early preview of five tracks off the album (jeeeeaaaloooous) and it’s safe to say that both reviews are glowing so bright we’re nearly blinded by the enthusiasm.

EQ Music Blog was the most celebratory, and summed up their thoughts in 140 characters on Twitter: “On “Trespassing”, @adamlambert has perfected the mix of pop, rock, dubstep, dance and melody to make a cohesive and mighty piece of pop art.” PopJustice, meanwhile, thinks picking the ballad “Better Than I Know Yourself” is a fake-out for the rest of the less-ballady LP: “The song sets the album up to be boring and moody, but it’s not really boring. It is quite moody though.”

-Serious problem with shopping, closet is running out of room, lol.

-Kinda over the spikes and studs

-Can't wait for people to hear the album.

-Adam and the DJ think this album will take him to the next level.

-he smoked for a minute in his early 20s.

@adamsminion ok! A bridge is the middle section of a song that is diff from the rest. the bridge in BTIKM starts w "I get kinda dark"...

@adamsminion a hook is the catchy part that gets stuck in your head. Usually they're in a chorus, and sometimes they're elsewhere.

@adamsminion the hook in WWFM is the line "whattaya want from me". The guitar plays it at the beginning and it's in a post-chorus.
