Let me start by saying I am not a Harry Styles fan, so maybe that clouds my judgement. When did a harlequin jump suit become new. Can we say Freddie Mercury? He wore a harlequin jump suit on the red carpet tonight. The announcers were going on about his great style. I am annoyed (maybe incorrectly) that he seems to pick styles that I have seen Adam wear years ago (the pink boa and some others) and it is credited it to his (Harry's) great style. Maybe I am protective of Adam, nothing says no one can wear a boa and nothing says no one can wear a harlequin jump suit. I am just annoyed when I see things like this and it is credited to him. Just had to vent.  |

Just had to vent. So AGREE!!! Don't understand this game of favoritism. Once a name gets out there, it doesn't matter what they say or do, the media treats these people as if they are godlike. Just had to vent. I think Harry is okay. But he is front and center with nominations and wins so gets credit for almost everything. At one point, they were trying to push him as a rock artist (but now rules pop and just won best pop album) and called him the new Freddie Mercury when he performed at Coachella. When Rollingstone just printed 50 fashionable and sylish music artists, they listed Harry and LNX and yes I felt a sting, lol. So I feel you. HA. But if your music fails to chart in some format and mostly fans hear it, they don't recognize you as a trend setting music artist regardless to what you are doing. |

What am I missing here??!! IN what alternate universe is this not worthy of the full formal extravaganza of the evening Grammies!! This is less than the flash in the pan performance?? A small hall...presenter in a pant suit...WTF I agree, WTF!!!!!!!!!!!! Such an accomplished artist not to be honored at the Grammies televised show. So disrespectful to his LONG career! I don't even care who wins one anymore. Some of the best have never won one and to make up for the oversight that happens time and time again they give a lifetime achievement award. BS |

I am not watching the Grammys tonight. I didn't want to drive myself crazy. Haven't watched in years, actually. But I checked in here during a commercial for another show I'm watching. I am SO thrilled to hear Nile Rodgers mention Adam among all those other huge names Nile has worked with! He and Adam seemed to really click together. When I think of Lay Me Down, I think of Nile. BTW, when Adam got his one and only Grammy nom, it was in a pre-Grammy room with a few others who were getting some "Lesser" noms. I think Adam's was in "Best Male Vocal Performance" or something like that. Not all the awards or recognitions are given during the actual show. It would last all night.
I hope that Adam gets an actual Grammy win at some point. Lord knows, he deserves it. As for Harry Styles and others who are currently popular, good for them! It's their time to shine. Harry is a good performer and is cute. My young niece is crazy for him. As for his outfit, there is usually someone who "DID IT BEFORE" like Freddie. But each new batch of stars pretty much thinks they were the first.
I want so much for Adam to be among the winners someday. Each year there are winners that just make me scratch my head. Interesting that some older acts, like Abba for instance, are up for some of the biggest awards. So it doesn't always matter if you've been around for a long time.

The whole award thing is BS. I watch the red carpet to see the clothes (LOL). I feel these awards (maybe not the Toni's) are bought and paid for. They are not the best, they are the most popular and the ones whose label lays out the most money for spins on the radio. I really do believe this, and yet I still let it get to me. |
