LOL! Adele won for Best Pop Performance but I will bet she was thanking her lucky stars that she did not win in the 3 major categories that also included Beyonce. The last time she beat her out for the major awards, everyone acted as if she was undeserving and had stolen them from Beyonce. It didn't matter that her album had sold much better. Beyonce won several awards tonight, like he did that last time, but not the majors that she competed in. But they went to multiple artists so no one artist to blame for her coming up short in the major categories again. Album of the Year-Harry (also Best Pop Vocal Album). Song of the Year-Bonnie Raitt. Record of the Year-Lizzo. And there was way too much Rap, imo. I know this might sound like sacrilege to many, but I do not for the life of me understand this humungous appeal for Beyoncé. She’s good, but I don’t think she’s that awesome at all. I only said she’s good cause everybody says it I don’t really care for much of what she produces. I just don’t get it. I don't get it either. I like her just fine but don't get the OTT praise for her. And she is just a god in the Gay community. When she performed at Coachella they and everyone else went nuts, lol. Sometimes I think they are afraid they will lose their gay cred if they don't name check her. But she did thank Queer people when she won twice for best dance/electronic music so there is that. Tonight her wins earned her the most Grammy's in history. Now there is a lot of talent out there but they are loathe to make it more fair and give some others a chance. I really don't dislike her, just not overly impressed. But when Dream Girls was to be a vehicle for her to get an Oscar, I will forever be grateful to (little known at the time) Jennifer Hudson from stealing that thunder with her performance. And not that I think she was worthy of an Oscar either but Billie Eilish stood in the way with the Bond Oscar song the last time HA. I guess I'm just tired of the few getting everything.
