I was so thrilled to hear Adam's name mentioned when Nile listed the many people had has worked with over the years. Seems like the Grammys were fairly predictable. I am just glad that one artist (usually a newbie) didn't walk away with a literal armload of awards. The awards were spread out a bit more. Adam's talent is still a hidden diamond in a very deep mine. Yes, he's getting more visibility as time goes on, and that's great. But just one actual Grammy win would be such a thrill, especially after all the years he's been around. Yes, I was very happy to hear his name, too. Remind people he is here. I would love a Grammy win for him and, as someone mentioned, it adds cred. But, when I see Adam interact either on interviews or others mentioning his name, it seems to me he is well known and well respected in the industry. It just doesn't seem to come across in the awards. Sometimes I wonder if all of the time he spends out of the US maybe removes him from people's memories. Also, there is the lack of radio play. A couple of years ago (don't remember the song) I literally heard Lizzo's song every 10 minutes on the radio. I hated the song, I finally turned off the radio and went back to my Adam playlist. I don't believe Adam has ever gotten that type of play and I don't know if that is the label. We move on. The Grammys for thisyear are over.

Adam has pretty much become an "all-the-time" celebrity in the UK. He is on lots of chat shows and has been judge on several shows. (Starstruck is HUGE.) He has so much cred there. It ought to be like that for him in the US. Hope his new mgmt. helps with his visibility. He does have respect from peers, and that's important. He just hasn't gotten on the darn radio. Hope it changes. As for Lizzo, I think she's just fine. Fun to watch. Nice voice. And then there's the flute. She sure shot up the ranks in a hurry, too.

We keep hoping that Adam will get a big presence on radio in the US. However, I recently read that many/most people, especially the younger generation, doesn't listen to commercial radio. The numbers are waaaaay down. Streaming with playlists and things like Spotify are providing the music for most people.
I don't know how to get more awareness for Adam, but I don't think radio is the vehicle.

Maybe his new management will get him more presence on TV, talk shows, etc. Hoping

I think Lizzo is OK and she is multi-talented and seems to be quite a nice person. It's just the pushing of the songs every 10 minutes to get them, ultimately, on the Grammys is annoying I didn't watch the actual Grammys but it looks like it was a Beyonce love fest. Everyone thanking Beyonce. Why? It seems like it becomes such a group mentality that if someone is lifted up and being "the best" by someone, everyone has to join the bandwagon. Again, Beyonce is fine, but I don't think she is the best thing known to man. I don't understand the gay community's love for her either.

Adam has done great in the UK and the tv show helps. But not much radio play there either so the awards don't come his way there either. If you are not on the radio, you are unlikely to get looked at for awards. If you are not on the radio, it is unlikely that you are on the huge streaming playlists. His fans can't stream enough to get him impressive numbers. The artists who get recognized with nominations and wins are on both for the most part. Many who get awards, and are not big pop artists, are at least on the smaller charts and that increases their exposure so that more than fans know about them. Even the smaller charts that are not so youth oriented, jazz, rock, alt, Americana, etc. have dedicated streaming play lists so that people who listen to that music at least hear them. And artists that are mainly on the larger country charts are on the huge country streaming platforms as well and some even cross over. Adam was close to 30 when he came on the scene so he wasn't going to get the a huge teen following and at 41 he is unlikely expecting that now. But he can't seem to even get on the AC, or some less competitive charts, that could help him get on more streaming lists and I am baffled as to why not. It has to be a label thing cause I doubt radio or the non-pop charts are just uninterested in him. The label has to try to get him there.

I just get the feeling he is moving on. He says he will never stop singing, but he is writing a musical being in movies and TV and doing voice overs. I believe he will have great longevity in this business because he is so multi-talented. I just don't want to see him move on too fast! We need to keep seeing him singing.

And to his credit at 27, 28, 29 Adam was a full grown man and never tried to pass himself off as a teen or looking silly trying to pass as some cute young thing. He looked and acted his age with style, charisma and dignity. He was a talented, handsome, sexy adult man and he went with that. But the heavy beard and sometimes OTT makeup, does make him look older, lol. My biggest beef is that it seems his labels never tried to get him established on some of the other less competitive US charts along with pop. But don't know that that was the case tho others don't seem to have a problem. And the biggest Grammy noms are in pop but the majority of them come from the smaller genres. WTF. He could have been on them years ago and they would have improved his chances. Pop was always going to be difficult because of the competition. However, it was made harder after his nomination when they combined the women and the men and the divas dominated. Only a few males could compete with them (Bruno, Harry, Ed). Adam is well known and liked. So once they started to recognize gay artists, after he had pretty much aged out of pop, he would have had as good a chance as anyone else on some of the smaller charts, imo. But career-wise he is great but it would be nice to see a voice like his recognized along with some of the mediocre singers who depend heavily on dancers or the OTT look at me antics. Besides radio play and large streaming numbers help with touring. Tho he has many great accomplishments, I doubt he is ready to give up solo touring just yet.
