I've been fascinated by astrology (both Western and Chinese) since my late teens and have numerous books on both. When the two are combined, they can give some spookily accurate readings.
So........ when my M&G was coming up in Auckland in October 2010, I wracked my brains as to what I could give Adam. Pressies ~in theory were not allowed, due to space whilst travelling constraints. We all know he loves astrology and I wondered if he had ever delved into the Chinese version.
With that in mind, I started researching and discovered that Adam is a Water Dog. How apt I thought - more water reinforcement (as if Aquarius the Water Bearer was not enough...lol). Anyways, what I ended up doing was compiling a whole lot of info about Water Dogs and laying it up in a document. I printed it out on some really nice parchment paper, rolled it up into a scroll, tied a ribbon around it and that is what I gave to Adam at my M&G.
When I finally walked up to him, shaking like a leaf and really nervous, I got the obligatory hug ;D, forgot to smell him :
and nervously said to him that I knew he was into astrology, but had he ever looked into Chinese astrology.
His face lit up (thud), he smiled and said "I have." And with absolutely no hesitation he said "Apparently I am a Water Dog." I said "That you are Sir :
" and promptly handed him my document with all the info on it and said that hopefully he would be able to read it later.
I don't know whether he ever did, but I figured it was small enough and that he might be able to glance through whilst traveling on the road or something.
I was thrilled, tho not surprised, that he was aware of other facets of astrology.
I have meant for months to post the contents here of what I gave him, but unfortunately the original document is on my external backup hard drive which is now playing up and won't bloody mount. It's on the list of things to do.
When I do get it fixed, I will post it because it was fascinating.
