Just a general comment on RCA and Toby's comment.
Toby is not a random DJ -- he is a PD and influence airplay for a hub of stations. He also has a track record of picking hits and knowing what will be popular,
I have no idea what RCA has told Toby but the track sales for BTIKM are not great -- and airplay is anemic. RCA could do something to change the dynamic or RCA could change the single. But something will change.
I know only one thing for sure -- RCA cannot be happy with the single's performance.
One sign that this is not the single that RCA hoped is that Adam did two important performances of the song on TV and the track did not move that far up the chart.
I am not giving up on BTIKM but numbers are numbers and the track does not have really good numbers so far.

Hi Seoulmate, is it alright for me to use this as my new avi? Thanks if it's ok! Oh if you can help to crop so there's more face and less background? Good heavens, OF COURSE it's alright!!! Here's a cropped version if you want it, but yours looks great, too, showing more of the shoulders! Thanks again Seoulmate! I'll leave the avi for now, I foresee many great new ones coming up!

I agree, there is NO WAY anyone at a label would share info about being disappointed in how a single ( and one that they are currently trying to sell to radio and the public) is doing. They are not going to share such info with a radom DJ, and if for some reason they did, they would certainly tell random DJ not to spill. My experience with major labels is while no corporate exec will say something publicly, people who work for the label often say that they are disappointed with how a single is performing privately. There is a ton of chatter and gossip in the music and entertainment business. I am not saying that anyone told Toby anything -- but could it have happened, you bet. ETA: Now that I have read Toby's article vs. the Tweets and comments about Toby's article -- I have no doubt someone close to RCA said that the label was not happy about BTIKM sales.

If there's constant repeated play I'm sure more will love it. I really don't know how we can help Adam apart from requesting. On the other hand we keep hearing WWFM was a slow burner. Any other single that RCA may pick can only do well if radio plays it constantly so it can reach the masses. Sigh, why is it so hard for Adam?

JMHO it is hard for almost all artists. The exception is someone like Katy Perry or Adam Levine (Moves Like Jagger) who have the right music for the moment.
That said -- and I am totally realistic about BTIKM -- there is a chance that the music video can change the dynamic.

I LOVE the album cover. And the new interviews.

tkradio toby knapp @adamlambert fans, i worked the word flailing into the headline for you bit.ly/wLkl6w9 minutes ago Tuesday, January 24, 2012 ADAM LAMBERT: Glambert Fans Flailing Over Cover Art Release! There has been much flailing in the Glamily this evening, as ADAM LAMBERT fans are overjoyed at the release of wthe cover art for his new CD, TRESSPASSING.
Lambert himself shared the art via his TWITTER feed and his website. The CD should be out in March. His first single, BETTER THAN I KNOW MYSELF is currently picking up airplay on adult pop stations in the US. While the song has been gaining radio airplay momentum, initial reports from sources close to Lambert's label have expressed a degree of interest in what could be considered less-than-overwhelming single sales via iTunes and other digital music services. While exact figures are unknown, it's believed label sources wanted to see more units of the single sold. It's unclear if the single has been shared among fans - with some not paying for the download of the music, or if the single's sales figures are indicitive of radio airplay not fully kicking in across the country. Either way, it's early, and the excitement from Lambert fans seems to indicate that the single - and the full CD - will sell enough for a platinum award from the RIAA. I am still catching up and I responded to the comments in the thread about what Toby wrote but had no read it. I can't figure out the angst over this -- - he says it is building momentum and that it is early - And he says the album and single should both be platinum. - He never says the comment about the sales came from RCA but "sources close to Lambert's label"....

Interesting to hear him say re the whole Glam thing, that the whole instant celebrity thing was so overwhelming, he kind of felt he had to hide behind all the eyeliner and makeup and glitz, etc. ---> he felt more comfortable that way... Guess it made him feel safer somehow... Maybe like the safety one feels when you put on a mask. hmmmmm.... I can understand that. Yeah, I can understand that too. I mean it's so much easier to "play someone else" (in a way) than just be yourself. And this is why I respect Adam so much (and for the same reason I don't really like Gaga - she's always hiding). He's not afraid to be who he is.

But sharing it with people is just unprofessional and troll-y. Why would he do it for ANY other reason except as a power trip? (i.e. "I know more than you do!") ETA: Also, I don't agree with you that the song didn't go that far up itunes with two performances. Without the AI, songs just don't get that much of a bump from Ellen, and especially not from Leno.
