@msnmusicukmsn Music UK Such a response to Adam Lambert tweet yesterday that I've made it an article - on-msn.com/xrOhfK - he's lucky to have fans like you guys We have actually heard it. Well, not all of it. But we were treated to a five-track preview the other day and we've got to say, we've not had this good a feeling about an album since we heard an advance copy of 21 by AdeleAt the bottom: :D "Oh, and by the way, doesn't Adam look just like a young Elvis in this new promo shot?"

Regardless of whether the TKnapp guys is in the position to know things, he is a tool. He pandered to AFL fans, he wasn't even good at it. Douche has rarely seemed to fit so well.
I wish ppl would leave him alone instead of pleading for advice....but they won't.

If RCA is indeed unhappy with the performance of BTIKM, I hope they're taking a good, long look in the mirror. Because from an admittedly completely uneducated perspective, not one thing about this single launch has made a damn bit of sense to me.
Starting with the song choice. Now, I love the song. Love it. To me it's so much better than the vast majority of what I'm hearing on Top 40 radio - and I enjoy pop music (at least the less rhythmically-oriented pop music). However, I am not a radio PD. Judging by some of the songs that get played to death, I don't "get" the reasoning behind a lot of the decisions that PDs make.
But RCA should "get it." "King Joe" should "get it." Didn't they vet BTIKM? Didn't they find out if PDs would actually get behind it? The theory of recapturing the people who loved WWfM makes sense, but theories need to be tested out. How could they have no idea that stations weren't going to be enthusiastic about getting on board with adds and spins? I seem to recall that the choice of FYE for the lead single the first time around was driven by Adam and 19, but this time around, I assume the choice was driven by RCA. Some are hypothesizing that RCA was following the "Kelly Clarkson model" with a safe first single, followed by an undeniable smash second single. But Adam is not Kelly Clarkson. Kelly has the support of radio - if she puts it out, it will be played. Adam does not have that luxury.
Then there's the release date, and the immediate release to iTunes, with not a spec of promo to justify either. I would LOVE to know the reasoning behind it, because I haven't a clue. When I thought it was because there was going to be a big public performance of BTIKM, I could see releasing into the time suck that was Christmas week/radio freeze. But with no performance, all it did was rob Adam of an opportunity for big first week sales, and start a slow uphill slog for the song.
Adam is doing everything he can. Give him an opportunity, whether with an interview, a performance, or both, and he knocks it out of the park. His fans are doing everything they can - whacking a mole, requesting, doing radio polls until our fingers fall off.
WTF IS RCA DOING??
